You don't really understand FA do you?

I do, do you?

Players will use it too ways, to get squillion dollar pay deals or to look for a fresh start. Betts is a restricted FA which means if Carlton choose to match Adelaide's contract offer Betts has to stay. On the back of this season and Mick wanting to change up the side, Betts is in for a pay decrease. Which means Carlton are unlikely to offer him a huge incentive to stay and I don't think we should offer him a huge incentive to leave that places him up towards our highest paid players.

Oh dear :D

Looks like I was right, and you don't get it

Is that so?

You seem a little confused. Betts will get whatever someone will pay him.

LOL, I was one detail off. It seems he has to seek a trade to Adelaide if they match offers. but he is a restricted free agent. I love how people are very quick to offer up opinions on people being wrong but seldom offer up their own expertise to prove why they are wrong.

The only thing I don't get is why you want to pay Betts a squillion dollars to come here.

LOL, I was one detail off.

Not a small detail, a really, really big and important one

Really big

Big, really big :D :p

Not something anyone should get wrong if they're claiming expertise

Still wrong :D

Its not an opinion, factually you were/are wrong.

Yeah but you're the same guy who said tex walker looks lost outside the goal square.

What you all reckon about the Campbell bloke that pantsed us a bit today?

No actually on this occasion you are wrong. The rules clearly state a restricted free agent can not change clubs unless traded if his current club matches the offer. otherwise he would just be a free agent. but I guess facts just skipped you. Or you don't think Betts is a restricted free agent. wow instead of writing why I was wrong again apparently I just am. well done.

how about you start telling people why they are wrong or don't bother saying anything at all in future.

PS lol, at least I have an opinion on something besides telling everyone they are wrong or whinging about the club.

Why on earth are we even thinking about acquiring Mitch Robinson. Hes a pure tagger, not a very good one at that, and his disposal makes VB look like Pendlebury. Add to that he appears to be a bit of a tool........ no thanks. Sam Kerridge is our guy, good defensive action, goes forward and runs all day.

Hendo for Mitch.

Gorringe keen to stay at Suns

OFF-CONTRACT ruckman Daniel Gorringe has given the biggest hint yet he will remain a Sun next season as the club prepares to resume contract talks with his manager today.
''I'm enjoying my footy up here and I love it up here, so once my manager and the club talk we will see what happens.''
The Suns are bullish Gorringe will stay and his words aren't the only reason they are confident.

Gorringe is in the box seat to claim the round 21 NAB AFL Rising Star nomination after he racked up 22 disposals and took six marks in his finest game for the Suns.

You should bow to it because thats the evidence. Adelaide has lost more players than any other club and we struggle to recruit anyone

In the last 4 years, with movement from Trades/PSD/Free Agency/Expansion recruitment, there are 2 clubs that have lost 10 players:

Melbourne
Hawthorn

Brisbane has lost 9 players, Adelaide has lost 8.

You can argue importance all you like, but the fact is 3 clubs have lost more players than us.

How can you trade someone back to a club they have never played? We drafted Otten... Morris is in almost AA form this year and could be included in the squad of 40. He is not leaving Richmond.

Otten never played for Richmond, but the original question was about trading Ottens.

I'd be more concerned that we are trying to trade out a retired player that never played for us.

Yeah not unexpected really. Have to hope the 2 lads at Centrals come on strong and definitely have a look at Nelson from Westies.

But if you ignore those players who either left or were traded out through lack of opportunity then your just not comparing apples with apples.

Players that left our club did not do so for lack of opportunity. You need to look at those lists and see how many were first choice, required players.

We were unlucky that we had three money hungry sluts. They were the killers. Maric, Griffen both traded out for more opportunity. Knights free agencied for more opportunity. Gunston was a mummies boy. The money Bock and Davis got offered you could hardly blame them for taking it.

Not surprising the week Dan Gorringe puts in a potential Rising Star nominee performance, it comes out that "he wants to stay a Sun"...

I wouldnt put a line through his availablility on the back of that article just yet.

His price just went up but. I'd love to know what the AFC think he's worth...

You can't really put too much stock into what players say in season, they're hardly going to come out and tell everyone they're going to seek a trade at the end of the year, before the season's finished, especially if they're actually playing games still.
