Why? Maric and Vickery are both good players and both have years ahead of them. Richmond are one team I DONT think will want Bellchambers.

Other than a defender, I couldnt see Richmond wanting much from us. There's no point us or Richmond trading Martin for a mid, and I don't think Richmond are after a tall forward.

Martin would end up costing us something like Pears and a first round pick. No thanks.

Maric is cooked - groin injury career threatening

I'd take that in a heartbeat. :p

In practice though, Martin is probably worth a top 5 pick or equivalent. You're looking at Bellchambers plus sweeteners to attain that sort of value. Not gettable as far as I'm concerned.

His foot might be stuffed ala Egan
Thomas' issue is with his ankle, no?

ok don't shoot me here, I reckon this could pay off and we wouldn't be losing much if it didn't.

RETIRING Melbourne forward Aaron Davey hasn't ruled out extending his AFL career with another club.
Davey says he will consider the options after his farewell game with the Demons against the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium on Sunday week.

"The mind and body is telling me no. But I'll sit down and weigh up all the options. I can't put a finger on what I want to do,'' he said today.

He has show in his career what he is capable of doing but the last few years he hasn't showed much (but who has for Melbourne?) with the prospect of playing 1-2 years with his brother could persuade him to play at Essendon for a cheaper price than what another club could offer. He is a short term fix but could fill the role of the small forward issue we have.

what you think?

This mature aged 3rd ruckmen we are talking about. trade Gumbleton and replace him with a forward who could ruck. Shaun McKernan if we are desperate? :p

In all honesty, I haven't been a big fan but the big red head thingy from Werribee looks a likely player for us. (Ben Brown for you guys playing at home)

Can mark, kicks goals and has been used through the ruck sporadically throughout the year.

Just throwing out names for that 3rd ruckmen we are looking at. Could allow us to cover two positions, possibly (Gubmy - forward. Hille - ruck).

Nope, Navicular IIRC

Would only consider him if he is willing to pay us to play for us.

Seriously, the guy is done. He's been cooked for several years now. Great player at his peak but his time is up.

he's gone

unless GWS come to him and offer him 5x's what he is exactly worth..

I'm confused though, he's announcing he's retiring, but hasn't ruled out not retiring

Ryder - AFL currently has him listed as the sixth best ruckman in the league; my personal opinion I'd have him at about fourth. And we've got him for a rumoured amount of $500k a year. For one of the best rucks in the league? Winning.....

Luenburger
Minson
Cox
Nic nat
Goldstein
Pyke
Kruzuer
Mcevoy

Lobbe and nichols on the rise too

You do realise that listing Kreuzer makes this an instant fail yes?

Tell me who ryder is better than in the first 5?

No I don't think I will, two reasons:

1) I offered no definitive ranking, gave what the AFL gave as a ranking and offered my own opinion on a 'Therabouts' ranking. Hence starting a giant shit fight on whether he's first, second, seventh or 28th doesn't really appeal to me.
2) Go find a HTB thread, polls board or any other board to give whatever opinion you want.

I dont want an argument i just want to know who you think he is better than? I hate those ranking systems, not sure why they were ever invented they are the most flawed thing in afl these days except asada/afl officials!

He would only be behind Cox, Nic Nat, Goldstein. The others he is just as good as, Pyke and Minson have had better seasons, but I would still take Ryder in the long-term over those two. Leuenberger has not been as good as Ryder at least in the last 2 seasons. Potentially yes, but not yet.

You're way off the mark with that one

How am I off that mark about Polec.

Three years on the list and he has hardly played a game,

Sheridan, Greene, Gaff and Adams would be my wishlist.
Any of those

Greene very happy in Sydney, Gaff a key piece in the WC rebuilt.

Sheridan and Adams are MORE attainable, but would still command decent currency.

Umm, where do we sign...?

I have seen what I've seen of Sheridan.

He is my no 1 target.

Three years on the list and he has hardly played a game,

The first year he was underdeveloped body wise, 2nd year he was injured constantly and this year he has basically told the club he's going home ffs and doesn't want to play
