No doubt, at his and Judd's age they are part of the woodwork.

As etsal1 posted, put the rest on the table.............. not sure we'll get anything.

CEO will be in charge of fixing off field....something Swann strayed from in his final years, he was a little too interested in being a footy guy.

Hence Macca will become even more important in running the footy side of things.
That was one of his jobs. Swann was part of the list management team.

Beatson might of been agreeable to moving to Carlton, but the nature of the Wright approach (the role as list manager) changed things as he isn't suited to the role. So I would now expect the new President to get his own CEO in, appoint a head of Football and approach anew from there knowing Beatson is at least open to a role.

Which was an issue in itself.

Name me one other successful club that has their CEO on the list management team....which will be hard to do as most clubs don't have a team, they have a list manager.

I can. Sydney and Andrew Ireland:p

Seriously though most CEO's need to have oversight on the football departments. Its how you balance it that counts. Rolling contracts don't help matters as well

The CEO should only be interested in running the club as a business and making the club money. They shouldnt be making list decisions because overall that isnt their remit.

Although, he could have been consulted in terms of finances available for contracts for new recruits obtained via the trade desk.

Not as much as Swann had.

Plus your website says Beatson is your player personnel manager.

Did it hurt us last year with Thomas, Everitt and Docherty coming onboard?

Or the year before that?

The CEO should have an ear to contract negotiations given he runs the club.

Did you read this on TC or Twitter? ;)

You follow the latest group think.

Because the current set up is working so well.

The way you post anyone would think we're 13-0.

Did I say anywhere that he wasnt involved in some part of the details and I actually stated that he could have been consulted about the financing for those players contracts. And in the end, he would have been the one who would have presented the figures to the board to get their approval for the terms of the contracts.

Dylan Shiel has requested a trade back to VIC

Finally something I can dream about.

Now all I need is the team to do that thing were they beat a couple of sides we aren't supposed to, finish ahead of expectations and artificially inflate my hopes and it will be a standard Carlton year
