Thinking out loud here but is Dempster worth picking up from the Saints?

He's probably too old now but he'd be perfect for the Gunston types while Hartigan settles into the #2 KPD role behind Talia.

He's quality and the Saints are desperately looking to rebuild with youth. If Lyons isn't in our future plans he might be the right price.

Hearing more whispers about Phil Davis to Adelaide. Girlfriend lives here still and Phil's very tight with Danger.

Would probably have to cough up our first pick this year (#8 to #10) but I'd do that trade in a heartbeat, particularly if it would go a long way to keeping Danger at the Crows.

Davis is not coming back to Adelaide

Davis and Danger have always been tight and it didn't stop him from leaving, not to mention when Davis joined GWS he went of his way to make it clear that it was not about the money but more to do with the challenge of starting a new club in a region that was align to his birth place

Both club and player have invested heavily in each other and Davis will see through that choice.

For what it's worth Davis is not worth our first pick in a draft year that has plenty of quality depth for talls

So where do you expect Vickery to play in the Adelaide team?

Jenkins stays as a permanent forward, we all know that ruck is not his forte.

Jacobs and Vickery through the ruck, both resting in the forward line when required.

I'm not saying sell the farm to get him, but you have to be REALISTIC when looking at attracting KPP.

I'm sure that Hawks fans werent enjoying a 'pants down, lap around the table' moment (as coined by macca23) when they recruited Ceglar. But he is doing a job and doing it extremely well.

We need less spuds not more o_O

Hope you guys do draft Garlett and Pickett goes to a side that has Faith in and can teach him thing that he lacks because thats what AFL clubs do,dont forget that these boys are still 17 and have heaps of upside to their game especially Pickett.

If you have a look at the first page of this thread you'll see that I am a big fan of Pickett and have been all along. The fact that I would be happy with Garlett as well stems mainly from the fact that we will middle out and Pickett will most likely be gone by our pick.

No need for the bolded nonsense.

Gorringe is a possible get for us, although I would not give a first round pick for him. Second maybe.
Davis again I would not want to give up a first round pick for him, which GWS would want. Davis was almost finished after his accident and is one hit away from not playing again.

Davis is a very good footballer but is another slow defender who has a happy knack not being on the park.

The only thing which would stop GWS running off laughing with our 1st round pick is they are prob even more desperate for KPD's
I'd love Davis back but you're right. He's not quick so it would need to be the end of Otten.

With Lycett, Gorringe, or Vickery where would they play ?? The former is a ruckman who can kind of play forward but in a forward set up already regarded by some as too tall all 3 would be at best taking Pods spot without the smarts or work rate. Assuming Pods isnt going to figure as much in our plans next year, which has always been the case, then would we not replace him with a running type ?

We basically have to convince whoever it may be that they arent coming over here to sit in the SANFL for most of the year or........ ice to eskimos

I agree with that. Except the Vickery part. His career stats are similar to McKernan's. I understand that we need to be realistic but Vickery would be three steps backwards IMO.

I think Davis and Talia are too similar - both negating types and Talia is clearly superior.

People may s****** but I actually think Schoenmakers would be a good foil for Talia and would add more class and rebounding ability to our defence. Not sure of his contract status but I'd be happy to see us chase him.

i dont think he will either but seriously LOL. in his presser he even said something along the lines of "im not going to lie money was a big factor"

Gorringe Lycett Vickery surely dont fit into our team.
Its all well and good to have these blokes on our team,. but we have far more pressing needs than these. Theyll end up playing the SANFL.

Your heart would be in your mouth constantly with Schoey, but I agree, would be happy to chase him, he has improved out of sight since returning from his knee reco.

Hawthorn would probably not part with him given ages of Lake/Gibson/Burgoyne

I think that if Gorringe or Lycett were performing they would walk into Pods spot. It's not a huge need but if it allows Jenkins to become a key forward and Jacobs get the support he has been asking for then give it a go. In saying that I'd rather see us take Ports first rounder and give West Coast Douglas and Lyons.
