For probably the first time ever i agree with you.

Thompson is my least favourite player at the club because of the stupid crap he does, ducks his head, lays on players and doesn't let them up.
When he concentrates on playing footy he and cuts all the crap out he is an asset to the side.
 
This whole issue shits me to tears.

I don't think I've ever been as dirty on Brad Scott as I was for putting LT in during the presser. Then on Ed and Derm's they replayed the whole thing with Scott's comments, almost as if belittling LT. In the meantime not even one mention about that joke that was the second quarter.

I haven't heard first hand what Narni said but it sounds like he should pull his ****in head in as far as I'm concerned. That is a no go zone for teammates.
 
I have less sympathy for LT than some in here. His diving is pathetic, regardless of whether the contact was there. He's been told to cut it out and hasn't. What was Scott supposed to say when asked? "Thomas doesn't dive"?
 
I prefer that praise and criticism are delivered privately. I can cope with Brad talking about LT publically but not Grima. Loose lips sink ships , just another paganism.

I don't blame Thomas. The 'hands in the back' rule is a blight on the game, sure, if you impede your opponent, it's a free kick. However if it is a subtle touch, where you are holding your ground, it is a poor rule.

Players exploit technical rulings.

Your biggest issue with Thomas is there were a number of times where Aaron Black was yelling at him for failing to pass to open teammates.

And that's the gist of what BS was saying.

Its symptomatic of the whole teams inability to concentrate.
 
I would rather see LT called out by the coach for being selfish.

He had three different opportunities to pass the ball to a player in a better scoring position, and went the hero shot and suffer them all.

Looks great when the low percentage comes off.

Looks like a selfish git when they don't.

And, he dives, and it looks terrible. To ignore, is to condone.
 
Can someone actually clarify what it was that Grima said? Haven't seen the article/heard the radio clip.

I saw the press conference and Scott spent a bit of time on it. I honestly felt or the cynic in me felt that Scott did this because here was an opportunity for him to make an easy fix. I mean telling LT to stop diving is a shit load easier than motivating three quarter s of your side. Just sayin.
 
Thomas is a very good small forward but he dives. He might not be the only one who does but he is the one who does it least (or possibly more, whichever way you look at it) expertly.

Players are not usually black or white and are often grey. Yes he plays his heart out for NM but he gets exposed on occasion for diving/exaggerating and one day it will cost NM big time when an obvious free kick is overlooked.

Regardless if true or not regarding the statement, I can just imagine Harry Taylor saying that about Selwood and Johnson, or Bock about Gazza......

They may not but they frequently criticise Johnson for getting suspended and missing games etc.

Lindsay Thomas should have been an All Australian at least once, but he does himself no favours with his exaggeration.

The issue is not whether LT would be better off changing his tactics or whatever.

The issue is that a teammate and coach should not be publicly potting LT, especially when we have far greater issues to address.

Scott was asked a question about Thomas and answered it directly, putting the issue to bed.

I do have issues with Grima commenting though. He could have said the coach has spoken about it and left it at that but there is a reason Grima is in the media more than the 'no comment, we're looking forward to our next game" boys....

It is one of the issues that has to be addressed. Be grateful that I am not the coach.

LT would be dropped if I had my way for the next game.

Not for the diving, but for being selfish git In front of the goals against Geelong.

I don't care if he bleeds blue and white, play as a part of the team or gtfo.

IIRC, Boomer was in the same boat a few years ago re. staging for frees, he has got over it, so should Lindsay, just keep kicking and dishing off goals ;)
 
Thanks to Brad Scott now the press in all over this. Will carry on in the coaches box if Thomas doesn't get a crucial free kick because the umpires bekieve he is staging. All Brad had to say was he was paid the free. Any concerns he had should have been raised behind closed doors.
 
I try not to have my supporter glasses on when dealing with these issues. My 2 cents is that I have no problem at all in Scott calling him out at all, I thought Lindsay's diving antics are disgraceful and I feel ashamed that we have a player representing North that does it. DO NOT WANT TO SEE AGAIN.

As stated before Thompson ducks his head in an effort to evade a tackle. He has said himself that he doesn't deserve a free for doing it. Harder to tackle someone when you get low
 
What a beat up! One of the biggest stagers/divers currently playing is considered a champion of our game..........Nick Reiwoldt.

Why isn't he highlighted for the numerous times a game he simulates contact or dives after incidental contact?

Hypocrisy at it's best.

Brad Scott can shut the **** up, instead of highlighting Lindsay's pretending, he should be highlighting the pretenders he is currently playing.....Black, Adams etc.

Paul Puopolo and Ben McGlynn do it constantly, yet nothing is said about their ducking tactics. The hypocrisy of the AFL media is just staggering and to make it worse our dumbarse coach just fed their agenda.
