Think we'll look to move Bennett and the first in some sort of deal for Thad Young or similar. As it stands one of Bennett/Dieng/Turiaf/Brewer puts in big minutes at PF which is sure to bring plenty of lols.

I dont see the point in trading Bennett for Young, at least not straight away. I'd give him the first couple months of the season to see what he's got. He's still got alot of talent.

I agree, and I'm not particularly fussed either way, but Flip wants to stay competitive and that isn't going to happen giving 25+ minutes at the four to any of the names I mentioned. Mo is probably an upgrade on Barea but not as much as the extreme Love downgrade. Don't expect LaVine to have an impact either and our persistence with Hummel is sure to bring...well, not much.

I'd give Bennett a while too but think we're more likely to look for somebody more proven.

Monroe baulking at 5/$60mil or 4/$55mil?

That's beyond fair for a player of his calibre.

I thought that if you're offered a 5 year deal, it's the max. And can only be offered to one player (which they should be holding for Drummond). And wouldn't that be 5/80?

12/13.75 mill and he's a bad fit next to the presumed franchise player. Is Dumars still in control here?

Barea on Hummels shoulders. You know it works. combine them together and they make a shitty starting 5 player for a lottery team

Wiggins gets to be Wiggins.

Cavs will be interesting. Have pretty much got this roster in spite of themselves but whatever.

If Philly isn't involved in this trade, Wolves can't trade Bennett for 2 months unless Bennett is the sole outbound player to Philly.

Greg Oden done ****ed up.

Obviously the deal isn't final yet, but surely Minny could have got one of Thompson and Waiters and a pick too?

And yes getting Wiggins is probably already one of the best returns a team has ever received for their abandoning star, but still. What if Wiggins turns out to be ordinary in the NBA? There's not a lot else there to work with. Bennett I have no faith in.

My understanding from a well connected Wolves poster from another forum was that Phiily would not be involved in the Love trade but may yet do a direct deal with Minnesota to offload Barea, Shved and or Mbah a Moute (I tend to think LRMAM will stay).

Wolves were happy to take Young in a three way and send Bennett to Philly, but Cavs couldn't find a player on the Sixers roster they were keen on for salary matching. And given they look like signing Shawn Marion there is less impetus to do a more complicated deal.

Goddamn Lebrone screwed the Cavs again for his own short term gain. The Cavs are gonna regret this, I hope I'm wrong though.

Cavs need quality defense but Love is just another high volume shooter with average to below defense. They're not winning anything if they don't get the balance right.

I think Lebrons presence alone defensively is enough to make the Cavs a decent defensive unit. Look at what he did in Miami.

Loves not great, but he's not as bad as everyone makes out. Teams like Indy (before the injury) and Memphis will cause them problems, but neither can score enough themselves. The Clips and Spurs are probably the toughest matchups for them, but the Clips dont have a wing presence that can really deal with Lebron. The OKC matchup will be nice, tho they are a little weak at the 4. Chicago as well, with Taj to throw at Love

Fun times ahead.

Greg Oden apparently arrested on two counts of battery. Dat mugshot.

Above average players get greedy. Wanting and getting are two different things.
Guaranteed that a he will get signed for more, it happens every year. Some team will throw him money thinking that he's going to be a 20/10/5 player for the next 5 years...

5/$60mil is about right for a guy like Monroe. If Gortat can get payed that much he will be about the same. I agree, it's greedy.. But if you can get some extra money and better your situation in the process, you're going to try.

Generally yes, but he's the type of player that is an exception to the rule, and Monroe clearly thinks he's worth even more than that.

I look at 5 / $60 mil and agree it's the market but for Monroe to be holding out for even more thinking there is a team that will pay him even more baffles me.
The funny thing is that a team is going to throw more money at him. He will get payed this season.
