• Perhaps a bonding thread should be created so that our forum is more united. This forum is a team. Like any team it is as strong as it is united and weak as it is divided. It will also help with toning down the malice in the pissing matches that can occur on this forum. It would just be a place where eagles fans here hang out and get to know each other and talk about anything. You would be surprised what a good hangout can do. Due to the fact that people would know each other better they would then be better understanding of each other's personalities.

As Keys alluded to, there is a whole sub-board designed for this sort of thing. Look at the top, it's called 'The Nest'. You can create threads about basically anything, however most discussion is had in the RDT.

Well if you stick the OP of a thread on ignore, than the whole thread will disappear.

You won't see anymore of their posts either however, as well as any other threads they may start.

Some of the stuff on our board (eg the Scott avatar thingy) rate really highly on other boards, which I reckon is something to be proud of. But the continued attacks on Priddis, not only in the Priddis thread but in so many posts on other threads, are very boring and also embarrassing. Matt Priddis is what he is - hard, professional and doing his best with less leg speed and less natural skills than other players who have a similar role. I think he is our highest-rating player in the Brownlow over the past few years and I don't think that posters on any other board would spend so much time bagging the player who gets the most Brownlow votes in their team. I don't think that mods should be too heavy-handed, but those few who seem obsessed with bagging one player as their main interest in life should have a good hard look at themselves. And if "pro-Priddis" posters just stopped rising to the bait, the Priddis attack would probably just disappear up its own a##sehole.

Why not just have two Priddis threads? Make a Positive and a Negative thread about him. If someone posts a negative comment in the positive thread ban them and vice-versa.

I will however not couch my argument for censorship in the way that i have above - i will couch it in the disguise of "it looking bad for our club if other club supporters visit our board and we are all not behind our players"

Because all of west coast should think the same and somehow if opposition supporters see that we dont all support all of the players i like then team unity will be lost and wont someone think of the children

Just looking to appease the majority. The Birds of Prey section of the board is still a public forum and anyone can view / post / like or ignore.

It moves the thread for those that are sick and tired of the circle jerk, keeps a thread open for those that want to continue it, and keeps it contained in one spot so it doesn't take over all our other threads.

Regardless, isn't that the whole reason the player threads were set up in the first place? To analyse said player, their worth to the team, any news articles etc?

I like the idea of moving the Priddis debate to seperate threads - love and hate and away from the main WC board.

The intolerance to the Priddis thread due to it containing opinions that some can't bear points to these folks not being actualized adults. The reaction by some WC fans to negative opinions about Priddis is what I think is embarrassing. Such a reaction to the Priddis thread is why the term 'fanboi' is apt for use on this board, for these people only want to read things that tickle their ears. Adults are able to handle both positive and negative opinions. These negative opinions of Priddis don't violate board rules. I think those that can't handle seeing negative opinions about Priddis need to grow up.

The Priddis thread is a much frequented and discussed topic, so it makes sense not to move it. Instead of pandering to intolerant, screeching children, how about the anti Priddis thread mob instead be forced to tolerate a discussion that doesn't violate board rules and thus perhaps learn to become tolerant of opinions they don't like by ignoring those opinions/thread as a whole.

Pandering to the soft sensibilities of the anti Priddis thread mob is akin to children ruling over parents and getting what they want whenever they arc up because the parents can't handle the kids' constant, whinging, moaning and kicking and screaming.

Missed the point completely, its the attitude and general way some go about relating to people on here. Agree or be ridiculed.
