Has to be Thompson surely - available.

Offer whatever it takes

IMO Thompson availability may hinge on whether the Essendon players get issued with infraction notices by end of season, if they do I don't think Hird will survive

Hi, hope you don't mind me putting in my 2 cents, but i honestly don't think you should go down the hiring a favourite son like Basset or Goodwin, should you choose to let Sanderson go.

I think Scott Burns should be the candidate The Crows should seriously look at. Very highly rated by the Collingwood Brains Trust, who lured him back from West Coast.

He seems like the type of individual who wouldn't be afraid to make the hard/tough calls. Not sure his name isn't bandied around more often as a potential senior coach TBH

As some one else said, he was short listed with Sando. From what I remember he didn't rate our list as high as Sando during the interview process, and wanted to make the tough calls up front. The panel preferred Sandos more positive assessment and his belief in a performance spike, and the rest is history.

If you wanted proof Sando is not up to it all you've got to do is look at his response to the Pods brain fade.

Said he was stiff. WTF. Pods did it a few times during the game and was lucky not to have others reversed during the day.

Sando should have let him have it and know that what he did was unacceptable from a senior player.

The majority of coaches don't use media conferences to slam their players

Some do, ask Blighty. The guy ****ed up beyond belief and is a senior player not some kid. If anyone deserved and could cop a public lashing it was Pods.

Further evidence, read the review of the Norwood v Crows. This is damming:

"Norwood 207 kicks 113 handballs"
"Crows 166 to 162"
"Adelaide accumulated stats, coughed up possession and got burnt on the turnover"

Good to see we are developing our seconds like our firsts.

No Sando will give Chappy another post season honest self assessment and as a result earn another year on top of his two year extension

You mean like our strategising of opponents are working as well as our various combinations through the midfield?

It should read more like this.. The team looks disjointed and there is no fluidity. This could only mean one thing for Sando and The AFC - further humiliation

Why the **** didn't we get a real coach for our SANFL team?

Sando is really up shit creek.

His press conference didn't fill me with any confidence. When they asked him about Ziebell he said we didn't have a match up for him. He then wen't on to say this was due to injuries to Otten, Hartigan and Shaw. Wtf is he smoking? All three of those players would have been destroyed by Ziebell.

I love in his presser where he was asked about Zieball...."oh we just didn't have a match up for him" - right ok then.

Then this " all our match ups for him were back home injured - Otten, Shaw, Hartigan" - right.

All explained then

What about this Sando.. the performances against the weaker teams continues to hurt us. FAIL

And as Rowey said after the match, when Brown went off Truck went off - "so you're saying that they picked Truck knowing he was only a match up for one player? Give me a break!"

Same here - what a pathetic excuse saying the only match ups for Zeibell aren't even in the side. I have never heard a worse excuse in my entire life of watching football.

Hey Sando, here's the news: he's got an opponent who he's already beating - GIVE HIM ANOTHER ONE FROM THE PLAYERS YOU'VE GOT ON THE FIELD. OR - keep doing what you're doing, and keep getting what you're getting.

Feck me..

In two weeks he's blamed the weather, the short break, and injuries. Desperate times...

Meanwhile Collingwood have lost half their squad and are above us on the ladder

If anyone has read the article on news.com etc with Cassisi talking about Hinkley, do we picture Sando being that type of coach?
He just doesn't strike me as having that something special that makes players walk taller, an inspirational type..
Felt I've known that for a while and it shows in how we turn up to play..
It's interesting that some of the coaches who seem to get the best out of teams are types of players/characters like Clarkson, Roos, Lyon, Hinkley..
The old no nonsense, tough types who know how to inspire and how to treat players..
