Doesn't make me wish that at all. But then, I see a draft pick's scope and ability as hinging on more than their 17 disposals per game first year.

Well I always wanted Aish before Scharenberg and was pretty disappointed when we didn't pick him up.

What the Lions should be doing right now is canvassing their Victorian players to see who wants to go home.
To be honest, what they should be doing is offerring pick 4 as a first and final offer and waiting for us to foild like a deck of cards like we did with Williams, Davis and Shaw.

I'm going to back in the club to have made the right call, but fair enough if you disagree.
On what basis would you have that faith? We've barely made a right call since the 2010 off season when we brought Tarrant back and added Krakouer.

And played in how many premierships?
Think before you post.
Buck didn't see how the AFL were about to tilt the level playing field in favour of a club that still cannot stand on its own two feet.
Bucks didn't see that the AFL would let a player who took a banned drug continue to take that banned drug.
Bucks didn't see that the AFL would allow the club to use iv's to win a Premiership, only to ban the use of iv's as soon as this club was outside the window.

Yep, I thought before I posted.
And I'm happy that our coach hasn't got an asterix against anything he did on the playing field.

Haha, I'm happy to give you back 2 players that are like for like :) Troy Lehmann played only a dozen games for us and Starca played 20 games in 2 seasons before retiring.
Starcs went on to be your fitness man in the threepeat.
Without him there would be no Premierships for the bears.

I didn't mention what the trade could be if you read my post. FWIW I was actually thinking along the lines of 4+24+Crisp 4 Beams + 4th Rounder but that's just my personal opinion.

Was actually trying to contribute something to your board about a possible player that the pies might be interested in. Rather then the classic shite all over BF along the lions of "haha lol your team sucks, mines better, take 4 or nothing, lol" but some don't seem interested anyways.

Will keep it too myself from now on though.

sounds pretty reasonable to me.

Well me being an Aish fan I will always disagree. Plus then I thought we were in contention and Aish would be more suited to play straight away and have a Impact. Scharenberg seemed more like a bit of a development type that would start out slow and come on in he's later years firing.

He certainly enjoyed his time with us more than he did at St Kilda

Grundy and Broomhead look like a pretty bloody right call. Our top draft picks have gone alright the last 10 years. I don't think Hine's lost the ability to discover talent

Then so be it. Brisbane wait twelve months until Beams is out of contract. Brisbane use Pick 4 in the draft this year, continue to front end contracts to pay 95% of the cap in 2015 as is required and pay 105% of the cap for 2016. The Lions make an offer to Beams at the end of next season.
12 months is a long time in footy. Imagine if you try this on, and GWS finish below you. Now, I'd say they'd have plenty of cash to match any bid for a player of Beams ilk. Beams best mate in Heath Shaw is there also. If the issue was all about his il father, his manager wouldn't have stated it's Brisbane only. I believe it's a good manager ploy as trades are smoother when there is only 1 club to trade with. You'll still have to offer a 1st rounder to guarantee the trade next year but also risk pissing Beams off. If Beams is pissed off enough, does he rethink GC. We could pay some salary ala Heath Shaw to snare a better trade outcome.

The PSD line gets peddled way to often and is a sign of desperation. If Brisbane thought you could get Beams for nought next year, they'd do it and keep pick 4. Brisbane won't take the risk of missing out on a gun mid who wants to come home.

It'll be pick 5 + something. The something is up to Brisbane.

Anyone who thinks Grundy and Witts are much better than Ceglar are kidding themselves.
How does playing in more finals equate to being a better player? Ceglar is decent atm, however, long term I'd much rather have Grundy and Witts.

Never said Ceglar was better, just that Grundy and Witts aren't.

Anyone else hear paul conners ( beams manager ) say that brisbane can offer a better deal than gold coast for beams. Firstly how the fk could he know that, secondly collingwood is the judge of what we think is a fair deal and not himself. Especially after brisbane has offered just pick 4

I know he wants to do best by his client but that was totally disrespectful to us, a club that has cared and gone out of his way for his client while he sits back taking his cut for doing sweet fk all
