His name wasn't actually on the page anywhere that I quoted. I didn't know it was him.

I think you guys need to separate the Rucci hate from the basic fact in the article: Ricciuto met Walsh months ago and left the meeting very impressed with him. The rest of the article might be agenda-laden confection but this fact alone suggests to me that the sacking of Sando might have been made with him in mind. I don't actually see how this is a bad thing.

Would certainly have made him more comfortable that even if we don't get a 'clarkson' that quality options are still out there.

Imagine a world without Facebook :) :) :) :)
There is a world without facebook. I live there.

Biggest load of shyte ever invented until twitter came along.

Yep I'm over 40 and the people who matter to me still know my status even though they don't know what I ate for lunch..

I don't have Facebook either. The only people who used to try and contact me there were people I had cut out of my life long before ... for good reason!!! All my actual friends I would either see or hear from by phone, sms anyway. No I don't WANT to see 400 photos of my cousin who I haven't seen for 7 years's baby! Oh WOW .... it looks like a f***ing BABY!!!!

I do, it's a great way to connect when you otherwise would not.

To use the term that "paranoia — had become a cancer against Sanderson’s tenure at West Lakes" is a thoughtless inconsiderate poor choice of words for a man that lost a good mate to cancer only about 6 or so months ago.

The depth that Roochi has plunged is into the abyss of despair that he can never call himself even inwardly a football journalist. It is quintessential of tabloid garbage at the extreme.

If I was Roo I would be taking legal advice, that article, basically says, Roo

i wouldn't go that far to say that was deliberate, but the whole article is an attempt to slur Roo and Walsh. I honestly thought it was a fake article when I first read it.

That would top of the "silly season" if the Club took legal action against Roochi and not only that but won.

You know what, sure his articles are rubbish, but the fact of the matter is is that there are plenty of supporters that dont read online forums and use the advertiser as their sole source of AFL in SA.

A Fages led legal action against Roochi, would rock him to the core. I do think an apology or retraction could be in order here.

Anyone else get the feeling that Walsh will make men out of boys! He just seems to be one of those guys that players might not necessarily like but will respect and down the road credit as being a huge influence on their career.

It is even money that in 2 - 3 years the club will move him on because of a "communication breakdown".

Hear me now Walshy ... get on TWITTER ... get on FACEBOOK ... WHATSAPP, VIBER, SKYPE, TANGO, LINE. Call the players every day, sms them, show up at their houses unannounced, use smoke signals if you have to .... do not let them move you on for "communication breakdown".

BRENTON Sanderson is on holiday in the U.S. with his closest friends describing the sacked Crows coach as “sad”. It also is the best way to sum up his quick demise at the Adelaide Football Club.

Ultimately, Sanderson’s tortured behaviour in his last six weeks as Adelaide coach can be used against him — as they were in that infamous “review” at West Lakes — to suggest the Crows board had no choice but to seek change

There is an account of Sanderson standing before his bewildered players at half-time ranting that if they continued to play as they had in the previous two quarters “you will get your wish; Simon Goodwin will be your coach”. This highlights how the curse of any AFL coach — paranoia — had become a cancer against Sanderson’s tenure at West Lakes.

Unfortunately another shit article from someone that still is eating sour grapes having missed the biggest AFL story in SA in 2014.
Hahahahahahahahahaha...

Agree except for the "not liked" bit

Most of our players loved Craigy because he was also bit of a father figure and IMO it will be similar with Walshy and like at port with Hinkley they will accept and respect any tough love that Phil hands out

There are also plenty of journalists (and I use the term loosely) that do read online forums to obtain material they are otherwise incapable of creating, for the Advertiser.;) Rootchi would have this site locked firmly at the top of his 'favourites' option. A garbage specimen.

Fact is, our new CEO, the board and anyone else involved in the hiring were blown away by Walsh, so they hired him. Whether we were into him months ago or weeks ago, it doesn't matter! Fact is, he is our coach and he needs to deliver
Well, personally, I like the suggestion that we had our eye on him prior to pulling the trigger on Sanderson because it looks like we actually had a plan and were not just making things up as we went along.

Yeah, what if Hawthorn had nailed half of the 10 more scoring shots they had? What if Rutten hadn't given away that late late free against Collingwood? What if Franklin hadn't nailed that last second 55m goal? Ah the pain of it all! :) :)
What if the umpires weren't campaigners?

It's funny, Rucci writes an article which attempts to defend and excuse SANDO, yet in doing so, he highlights a portion of his failings, which are more than enough for the reader to come to the conclusion that SANDO wasn't up to it, and had to go.

I only object to the tasteless style it's written in. He attempts to paint the club as a shambles but slanders Sando instead.

I agree that it ends uo painting a picture where the club had to act.

With regard to the Black Ops article. Roo might have been impressed with Walsh and when Sando was heading down the path of getting sacked Roo may have had Walsh in mind. But this goes against the other version where Chapman became well aquainted with Walsh during/after Bailey's illness. Clearly Roo and Chapman both were impressed with Walsh prior to the sacking. Rucci is only focusing on Roo and a Black Ops mission as part of the "King Maker" theme. Having Roo on a pedestal is a set up for when the club hits rocky times. The CockRooch would have no trouble taking pot shots at Roo up on that self-made pedestal and use terms like "fall from grace" etc.
