GWS stock piling KPFs doesnt look so silly now. Lose 2, still have plenty of them left and gain Griffen, 6 & 7 for the two trades.

Bickley all but getting the sack with Walsh moving him out of the coaches box to a lesser role most likely orange peeler or waterboy lol.

Don't worry Bicks there's always your old job at Channel 9 to fall back on.. oh that's right they've already got a legit AFL great doing sports, I guess he could always try out for Aiston's old job at 10 but Nick Butler is doing a fine job there so looks like Centrelink might be the go.

Damn it Walsh, stop doing what needs to be done.

Who said it was silly? I can't think of anyone. I can remember people complaining that GWS had access to all the KPF talent in the draft, though...

If they keep losing them every year though they'll just be in a groundhog day loop redrafting kids that will keep moving on in 2 years time.

They've lost Boyd & Jaksch this year, will lose Cameron next year & Tomlinson eventually so they'll be left with Patton who's already had 2 knee reco's & McCarthy who'll eventually take up an offer from Freo.

Their stockpiling doesn't look silly, the AFL's idea of creating another AFL team in an already struggling Sydney market was & still is a silly idea.

There were plenty who queried why they picked Jakcsh, and then why they picked McCarthy.

His premiership captaincy is getting him more mileage than need be, outside of the AFC noone wants to touch either him or Camporeale.

Bit of a dilemma when Essendon plays Adelaide next year: who do I barrack for? I now hate both sides equally!!!!!

Adelaide. I can never forgive Essendon for the past few years. Absolute ****ing scum, I died inside when we lost to them last year.

This. I will barrack for Carlton and even a Buckley-coached Collingwood against the Cows, but the Dons have gone too far and shown absolutely no remorse for their actions, have shown they are prepared to tear the fabric of the game and its administration apart for the sake of their sense of entitlement.

As much as I dislike the Crows, I'll have to grudgingly agree. I just hope Port plays Essendon early in the year, when most of their best players are out: I want to pulverise them by a record margin!!!!

The more I think about, the more confident I am that GWS will throw pick 6 or 7 at Essendon for Ryder tomorrow. They're mad not to do it.
They'll be a much better team next year with Mumford and Ryder working together and Griffen leading their mids. This is what they were waiting for.

At what point in this narrative does Ryder suddenly decide that agreeing to be traded to GWS would be a great idea?

He hasn't yet, mate. I just think that there is a decent chance if faced with retirement/grievance tribunal, he might take the option of another destination club. I don't know how true to his word he will stand if pushed tomorrow, nor how negatively it will be viewed by a GT if he turns down an opportunity to go to the AFL's pet club, and stands by Port.
I'm not assuming anything regards to tomorrow's outcome.

Any legitimate GT will completely ignore the AFL's pet club argument.

I'd still want Essendon to beat them. I don't give a damn. Essendon's given us grief in recent weeks and may get away with us not getting Ryder (but Ryder is still their contracted player and we don't lose him, we just don't gain him) but none of it amounts to the history of the grief from an sanfl and all its loser clubs that favour and formed the crows to attempt to keep our great club as a feeder club for eternity. I cannot stand side by side Nigel Smart and hope his petty club wins any game. Not to mention the future headaches we will undoubtedly receive from these losers in the future as well.

Hope so, but legitimate and AFL don't always go hand in hand. Of course, equally the AFL may jump at the chance to punish the Bombers further.
I'm assuming the GT is an AFL-related body, is it not?

From section 43 of the 2012-16 CBA - the section on the Grievance Tribunal.

43.8 Composition
(a) The Grievance Tribunal shall comprise a panel of three (3) persons nominated by the AFLPA and agreed to by the AFL Clubs [or AFL, as the case may be] and three (3) persons nominated by the AFL Clubs [or AFL as the case may be] and agreed to by the AFLPA. The AFL Clubs/AFL and the AFLPA shall endeavour to select persons with expertise in disciplines and/or laws that are relevant to the matters that may arise between or among the persons to whom this procedure applies.

(b) Such persons shall comprise the Grievance Tribunal for as long as such persons are willing and able to act.

(c) In the event of retirement or where a member of the Grievance Tribunal is unwilling to continue to act, the nominating party shall in such case have the right to nominate a further three (3) persons and the other party shall in such case select one (1) person from the nominees, to fill the vacancy created by retirement or unwillingness to act.

And then when they get their "best" back, we pulverise them again. :D

Aren't GWS the antithesis of a destination club?

;)

For future reference - the mega trade
