Living in Vic I don't get to see (or read about) how the guys are developing through the WAFL. Love the weekly match reports, but they don't necessarily tell the story of where they are at.

So how are the recent draftees faring?
Karpany, Barass, Main, Maginnes, Powell, Colledge, McInness.

I was expecting Karpany to have come on a lot better following the write ups of 12 months ago, curious what went wrong with him?

Karps was overcoming OP when he first came to club and had a few injuries during the year (correct me if I'm wrong).

Really want to see Karps in the NAB Cup. Hoping he has a big preseason. Does anyone know if he has any niggles atm?

Ideally the players drafted in 2011 who have been on the list 3 yrs would be expected to step up but Newman has missed a year and Hams has retired leaving Fraser McInnes who took a big step and stood up in the G/F but hard to see him ousting Kennedy ,Darling or McGovern .

Barrass ,Main and Powell are project players that played Wafl ressies and should show improvement this year .Colledge ,Karpany and Maginness may get blooded this year .

He that shit?

A talented kid who over the off season has put on a lot of bulk but is also injured and is in a moon boot, should be right to go after Christmas. When he did play seniors in the WAFL he didn't look out of place and he improved his disposal efficiency. Being on the rookie list though i don't think he will get a look in unless there are injuries to a lot of our mids. If he has a strong year i can see him being upgraded for 2016.

Some notes on the other players you mentioned.

Karpany - He was suffering from mild OP leading up the season but slowly worked his way back to play 15 games though the seniors and reserves. Didn't have a major impact but he did show signs of talent when given a go but struggled as he didn't have that much of a fitness back coming into the season. This is the sort of player we need to fast track as he will be handy as that rotating mid/forward. From some reports he has come back in good nick and ready for a good crack. Has a ready made body just needs the fitness so i hope he gets there so we can see him play in the WCE squad later in the year.

Barrass - Season ruined by injury but was put away early to prepare himself for this year. Has put on quite a bit of bulk which he will need if he is to be a power KP defender. A project player so will take a few years before we see him line up in the WCE squad.

Main - Tall mid who hasn't played much seniors but did play well in the reserves. A project player who could be anything at the moment.

College - Forward turned Mid who has been unlucky with injury through out the year. Played some great footy in the WAFL and was given a few games in the AFL. Was used a sub though where he didn't really get to use his talents , needs to be playing from the start.

Powell - Have no idea really.

Mcinnes - Has been coming along nicely but i think he will find it hard to get a crack in the seniors unless there are injuries to Darling, Jk and Mcgovern. Has been playing down back to see if he can play that role down the track.

I see Main being delisted, or close to it, at the end of next season. Powell too. I don't see them as being long term players.

What about Colledge, he'd need a big year along with Fraser and Tunbridge to be considered safe. Will probably help their cause if Mcginnity, Hill, Butler or Waters are also on the out at the end of the year.

On Barass - I hope he comes along, he's a big unit. I mistook him for Sinclair a couple of times, he doesn't look undersized next to Lycett.

Colledge is safe for a few years IMO. He dominates the WAFL and provides intangibles to our side. Also consider McInnes pretty safe, always need depth in talls. Tunbridge is in trouble if he doesn't produce something next season.

Both are the epitome of project players. I reckon you're right on Main but Powell I think they'll give plenty of time to. Plenty of upside there.

I'd love Main to come good. 190cm strong marking, pacy and skillful onballer is the best case scenario. I don't think he'll do enough this year though.

Main is an interesting prospect. He looks like he has some good attributes from what the little I've seen of him. Is he looking like he'll play NAB cup and be a regular in the league side for EP?
