Mark was a pretty good player actually. i'm surprised thats all the matches he played, especially as he was in the not so good early 80s teams.

Back KB's push for a grandfather/son rule. Or the rule to reduce the games played to be eligible for the father son rule to 1, get KB back on the laws of the game committee

yeah i think thats right. for some reason i thought he went to Fitzroy, but according to wikipedia he just went on to star in the vfa for several years
Yeah I would have been great if he got too 100 games, I have a good feeling that we will get the Weed as he fills a need and we targeted mids this year. Even though next years draft was rated higher for mids. If we get a top 10 pick we should have him

He did indeed go to Fitzroy, but obviously never managed a senior game for them.

Magpies clear Weideman to Lions for about $15,000 - The Age, April 18 1985.

Strangely, the Encyclopedia of AFL Footballers doesn't mention this either, only that he transferred to Coburg.

Mark was no great player. He looked good (stylish) but he was very slow and had no agility at all. He was very hyped up at the time because of his father.

Yep he was pretty slow, though he had a lot of courage. Also because he was a Weideman they played him as a key forward and in our early to mid 80's teams he didn't get much help.

The thing I like the most about the Weed is he is sead to be a strong pack marking full forward and they would complement Darcy Moore very nicely seeings he is a CHF

What are the rules for father son when two siblings are eligible for drafting? Can we get both Josh and Nicholas Daicos?

We got 3 Clokes under father/son. Pretty sure we'll have no issue with two Daicos'.

Do an Essendon/Heppell and make him see a doctor with ties to the club, and release remours that his knees are shot!

He could do a Chad Wingard and tell the clubs who have the picks before us that he would not want to play there and if they drafted him he would walk out after his first contract

Whaaaat!? No way. That's like telling Tom Selleck or the Sundance Kid to shave off theirs. I think there is a distinct lack of handle bar moustaches in today's AFL. For shame modern footballers! Maybe Abbott or Maynard can break this sorry and worrying trend :p

If you ever need proof that I'm an extremely influential person with the ear of the players at our footy club read the comment above and then check out the end of this clip from the AFL site.
