Darling walking laps

Defenders doing a kick out drill includes shepp

About a dozen other players in a group elsewhere doing not much. Rehab group I'd suggest. Can't pick out who other than lamb

Ellis and Barrass were in that rehab group as well, think Hill and Newman were too. NicNat was doing laps with them before the main group got there, but joined the main group and seemed to participate in everything from what I saw before I left.

Didn't see you though, would have said hi.

Yeo was with that group as well.

Was sitting up on the bank under a tree but was only there for about 3/4 of an hour. Might head down again on Wednesday or Friday to see if the intensity lifts, thought they were flat today.

It was a bit of a worry actually. There were at least 10 players in the rehab group although I must admit they ran at a fair pace albeit without contact. Among the group I think were Sinclair, Newman, Ellis, Nic Nat, McGovern, Adamson, Hill, Bennell, Lamb plus a few others.

As previously stated. Nic Nat joined the main group later and it was a decent session in the heat. Darling, Selwood and Hutchings did nothing but walk plus a few handball drills and that is a worry..no chance of seeing Darling in the midfield this year I would reckon.

Hard to identify players as the heat meant they all wore hats plus there were 3 academy players who mall looked pretty good.

from what I could see. I thought Karpany, Shuey, Masten, Kennedy, LeCras, Lycett, Nic Nat, Cripps, Waterman, Priddis, Colledge and Sheed all trained pretty well as did Mcinnes. Can't remember the others due to the difficulty in identifying them as well as the hot weather which prevented getting too close.

One thing that did worry a bit was that (I Think it was Newman) appeared to have a heavy knee bandage on and seemed to be limpimg a bit when he finished a short session.

Sorry I can't say more but it was just difficult ot see what was happening with the heat and strong wind. On a good note I think I saw Mackenzie with the main group and it appeared Waters was also there,,can't be 100% tho

Heres a comparison pic of shep

That's got nothing to do with whether you'd rather hang with your workmates after spending all day with them or go home and have some fun with your super hot missus Boondy. Who said anything about carting her round as a trophy? How do you know the guys don't respect and admire them already? Strange post. If you wanna stay around with sweaty blokes all day and night that's your choice mate, but I'd rather not. :)
I have a super hot missus . :) . Married to her for 20 years ... She is still super smokin hot scary good .. you cant worship them just because they pretty . So I know these things.

Disappointing to hear about the draftees skipping team functions for GF's... I suppose it's a this gen thing?! They'd probably whine about having to carry senior players stuff...

I thought it was the other way around, the older team members were at a function with their GF's and the draftees wanted to skip the drinks because it could affect their training.

It sounds like Simpson has put a bit of a focus on drafting players with a very tight work ethic - hopefully this means we'll be more driven to cinch the close games in future seasons.

We'd still win it, I can't see the opposition kicking 4 goals with 2% of the possession.
I'd take it.

Nah 20 turnovers and not being able to chase leads to 15 second coast to coast rebound goals

15 goals 5

I don't mind giving young interstate players a little bit of time away while they're settling in. The potential always exists for them to feel a little isolated away from home for the first time.

You need a healthy balance, not that social interactions need to involve a beer or two in the off season. Culturally speaking you're always going to have players with different personalities, sensibilities and values.

Well we changed our drafting in 2005 by placing more emphasis on character. Placing more importance on professionalism at the ages of eighteen seems a little unnecessary to me.

Lots of juniors with better off field application who excel at the hoop jumping aspect of getting drafted don't necessarily come on like their more immature and more naturally talented counterparts. See Tom Scully as the best example of this.

Where did all this come from anyway?

Is it just bigfooty chatter?

Set back for Newman with a knee injury he has no damage but will be a little off for a few weeks you would imagine. Good news is Rosa and Emac are back with Wellingham back later this week.

Karma/footy gods/whatever still niggling away at Newman. The belated return of those other 3 is somewhat encouraging but they've already missed most of the grunt work in the preseason. When you then consider that Darling, Selwood, McGovern, and Yeo have done essentially nothing it means a third of our best 22 will starting the new season behind the 8 ball. I still think we're capable of making the finals but we're going to have to be careful about re-integrating these players into the side.
