The boys are back at Patersons Stadium on Monday morning
If you're one of the lucky ones and still on summer holidays, skip the sleep-in on Monday morning and watch our next open training session.
The players will be back at Patersons Stadium and looking forward to healthy crowd.
Date: Monday, January 12
Time: 9.30am
Venue: Patersons Stadium
Open training sessions are free and all fans are welcome.
Please enter Patersons Stadium through the lift at Gate 12 on Roberts Road, Subiaco.

The flat track bully thing has been since 2013 not 2011. We beat top 4 teams back in 2011/2012

We were 1-4 v Top 4 in 2011
We were 2-5 in 2012

All wins at home... Rarely looked like like really winning it against anyone good on the road

We routinely spanked poor sides, a number of 15 goal plus pastings.

We've been flat track bullies for a while. When we had some more talent we jagged a couple of wins at home, one in the worst game of all time v Hawthorn when we were goalless at half time :)

Its difficult for any team to win away against good opposition

Hawthorn 7 points Aurora
Collingwood 3 points MCG
Collingwood 13 points MCG
Hawthorn 25 points MCG

We were in all of those matches. Hardly flat track bullies. I think Sydney were the only team that really had our measure over those two years.

The margins flattered us at times. And one game v Collingwood aside our wins were by very small margins (under 10 points).

We were average and benefited from good draws and flogging poor sides at home and occasionally away.

We haven't been genuinely dangerous as a side since 2007. And our tendency to flog poor sides and be non competitive when it matters againat better sides has been with us for a while. Which is often the trait of players who lack ability and a bit of substance. Welcome to the Woosha rebuild.

We were better in 2011 & 2012 because we had more ability and more substance ... And we were still a fair way off

What about beating 5th Carlton by 36 at Etihad? We finished exactly where we should. Beat everyone below us and managed a couple of wins against teams above while putting in some honourable losses. I'm not saying we were premiership material but we weren't flat track bullies like we are now. 2012 wasn't a good draw either.

Couldn't care less what your view is. We weren't competitive in any meaningful way when it mattered and haven't been since 2007.

And we had Cox, Kerr, Embley, Glass and co up and about ....

We still weren't close. Woosh was allowed to get away with being in charge of mediocre recruiting, mediocre development and the keeping of shit footballers on our list for years too long.

We have become content with a bit of hope, some event efforts at times against good sides but no real sign of being a contender ...

2012 we were demonstrably worse than in 2011 - by years end we were no chance to do anything .... 2011 & 2012 were the definitive false dawns ... We overrated our list, were slack about cutting the deadwood quickly enough and some of our players never came on ...

We were flat track bullies. We still are. But we're just a worse team, so the "hope" wins against good teams have dropped away leaving solely the beating up of shit :)

For the benefit of passive aggressivess like #ArdentEagle, I quoted you so you'd know exactly who the dismissive tone was aimed at.

If you are arguing, which you are, that we have only recently become a bunch of flat trackers and we were somehow genuine contenders in 2011 & 2012 then I don't care what you think. Because thats a stupid notion.

If I've somehow misunderstood you and you agree it was a false dawn full of misdirection caused by the last flicker of some dying talents then fair enough. But there's not much evidence that you hold such a view....
 
I'm hugely hopeful we are moving in the right direction. But when I see guys saying stuff like we are close I become concerned.

We might be close on the back of a couple of the newer players suddenly exploding into A grade players. But otherwise we seem perfectly placed to be anywhere from 12th to 6th depending on injury and a bit of luck...

Basically where we've been much of the last several years ...
