Thompson didn’t buy into the contract talk surrounding fellow midfielders Rory Sloane and Patrick Dangerfield. But he did break some news about the latter, revealing Dangerfield had followed Sloane in getting engaged over the break.

“They (Sloane and Dangerfield) both just signed a form of contract that’ll, hopefully, last them a lifetime in getting engaged over the Christmas period,” Thompson said.

“They’ll probably both need a new footy contract after the rocks the put on their girl’s fingers!”
