In other preseason news, star Eagles midfielder Joseph Bloggs suffered a setback to his 2015 campaign when he suffered a flare up to an existing decapitation he originally suffered last season.

Bloggs will be sent for scans some time in the next fortnight to determine the extent of the damage, but Eagles coach Adam Simpson was upbeat his chances of being ready for round 2 of the NAB Cup.

"It's very much wait and see at this point for Bloggs," Simpson told reporters at his Thursday morning press conference."Bloggsie has dealt with injury very well in the past and we're confident he'll be right to go. Obviously, we'll know more after the scans."

"We're taking a conservative approach with Bloggs allowing his head to knit with the top of his neck naturally with rest, rather than sending him for surgery."

Bloggs originally suffered decapitation in round 5 last year, but fought his way back to be part of the team that took on the Gold Coast Suns to determine which of the two clubs would receive the worse selection in the 2014 AFL Draft. Despite being declared dead prior to the match, Bloggs played a pivotal role in ensuring the Eagles received the worse draft pick.

Seems the Eagles medical staff used to work with the Australian cricket team, they had to use a lot of sticky tape on putting Bruce Reid back together.

Yeah. That's a fair comparison, but Reid managed to eek out some high-quality performances between injuries, but you've got to wonder if Bloggs will ever play again without a head. It's a pretty serious injury. I played junior footy against a kid who was a junior state representative. He suffered a decapitation and was never the same player. I suffered a minor decapitation myself playing ammos and missed 2 seasons.

The mismanagement of Selwoods injury isn't getting enough scrutiny.

He missed more then half of last year FFS, before some genius deemed him fit to be playing in the final meaningless game of the year against the suns.

And now low and behold he's struggling to be ready in time for round 1. It's up there with Yeo's broken hand for stupidity. Someone needs an uppercut.

TOTALLY AGREE.

HIS NAME IS WARREN KOFED.

Can't see CCS having that much of a dynasty, if GWS can keep all their guns, *I doubt they will* they will be better than GCS IMO.
With O'Meara, Martin, Bennell, Swallow, Prestia and Kolo, they have a midfield equal to any that we've witnessed in recent history. That's excluding Ablett. Garlett and Miller are both handy inclusions through the draft.

Wright and Lynch are both 200 cm super athletic KPFs and will be difficult to defend against if they develop well.

With that foundation, and the fact they'll have a bucketload of cash to buy free agents once Ablett retires, I can't see them not having a dynasty.

GWS will be super powerful too, but I think their retention rate will be worse than GCS and I reckon they'll struggle to keep the same core group together for long enough.

Who is Joseph Bloggs? What number does he wear? 9?

Look guys, i'm not obsessed like you lot, just a fan.

#willnevergetold

Surely it was down to the the doctors and coaches to overrule. Complete stupidity by all involved for mine.

Including Selwood. Don't forget he carried it for an extended period, and if he was a genuine leader shouldn't have bothered demanding selection in a pointless game, he should have just looked to 2015 and been conservative.

Good news with Yeo and Sinclair to return to training this week with Darling,Scooter and Mcgovern the only ones yet to be out there.
The comment reported about Yeo returning is great, if he is back in drills this week it gives him 5 weeks before Nab cup which should be plenty to get some touch. I'm dreamin of Nic, Yeo and Shuey at the first bounce in round 1.

Would also need the pace of Priddis in there - otherwise we are too slow.

Since his beheading, Bloggs hasn't worn a cap, so he's virtually unrecognisable
Apparently he had his head completely removed and plays better wearing a hat[/QUOTE]
No, never. We'd never play a bloke without a head. All the other teams in the league would be unable to persecute us with high tackles.

Cheers! Let us know if Hutchings, Yeo, Mcgovern & Newman are back in full training.

So far:

Boys filtering out.

Guys who weren't here last week: McGovern, Bennell, Sinclair, Lamb, cavka, Duggan, Yeo, Nelson. Brophy, HOTLINE, murky (Waterman),

Can't see Newman or scooter. Or Ellis. Think the rest of the squad is here.

Players having a long chat with Simmo before things get going, then just warming up.

Walking laps (at this stage): McGovern, brown, hitching, maginness. Brown looks fine, maybe just warming up or a light session.
