It was only water weight. They would have drank a shizen load of water/Gatorade etc straight after the game and been good as gold Sunday morning. We have elite facilities at pie land so no excuses for the boys not recovering properly.

I am very hopeful about this week. It is no harder than last week. We are still generally written off, and Adelaide come into the game overconfident. We go in knowing that only 100% will do it. Sidebottom is a huge loss, and we don't have a big ball wining runner to replace him. The others will have to do the job collectively.
Like last week, we just have to try to snag a win against the odds. If we can, the problems will start as expectations rise.

Loved Terry Keays

Not as much as he loved himself. Kicked a bag in the VFL reserves in the final round of the 1990 season and basically quit the club after the premiership because he thought he deserved to be a premiership player.

Interesting game. Usually there is an unfancied team at the start of the year who jumps quite high up the ladder. In Round 1, these two teams looked the most likely of the unfancied brigade.

I think that we match up pretty well against them, but if they press like they did against the Roos, our footskills and systems to clear the ball from defence are going to be really tested.

Having said that, Cloke and Swan appearing fit for the first time for ages, coupled with us not overcommitting numbers to the contest and having options on the outside to clear the footy, gives me a bit of an inner glow.

Sidey out is another one of those body blows we keep geting over Bucks era. Still all those with a hard on for the seed and broom get their wish fulfilled. Young team, can't expect a win but they still should be able to show the same effort as last week and then who knows.
