Young having earned a drop meant that Ah Chee had to stay in. We're depressingly low on broad shoulders in the midfield now.

I think too much is being made of our 22nd player being sent back to the SANFL.

Disappointing yes... But meh.

The issue here is the rewarding of mediocre form over Ah Chee who hadn't put a foot wrong in the opportunities given to him.

I reckon its pretty much the equivalent of dropping butcher for the same game last year.

Boy am I sick of reading this comment.

Butch stunk it up the week before, being gifted a run against a hapless Brisbane outfit isn't the difference between him being a dominant key forward and running out in the SANFL this weekend.

YEp -Turn the lights off on the way out.

So your happy with ahchee getting dropped and his form not rewarded?

Your happy with the outcoaching that has occurred this year on multiple occasions?

carnt argue with impey and amon but ahchee is stiff to miss. He hasnt really been given an opportunity.

Your attitude towards this makes me curious.

I've stated it's disappointing the Arch has missed... But I'm not going to be up in arms about it.

The coaching panel have shown their hand and gone in a direction they think will do the business.

Is anyone going to be completely and continually happy with 'coaching' unless we are undefeated ?? No...

Our 22nd player has harshly missed out, yes.... But I'm not going to carry on like a pork chop about it, especially when the story of our pre season is getting a debut.

just hope they give amon a full game, got to give the blokes a chance in the first games, not just sub then drop, thats no good for anyone.

Yeah but being dismissive of it has a head in sand kind of feel.

Like I said I hope I'm wrong!

people are just abit frustrated that ahchee has played two games as a sub, dropped, best on ground for the maggies, played another game as sub, in all afl games he has shown enough to show he can handle it but hasnt really been given a real chance before being dropped again. just give these blokes a chance, others get multiple chances and are still locked into the side.

Dont disagree Oz... I'm disappointed too.

Very excited for Karlos on the other hand.

Very harsh on Ah Chee.

Also would've thought we are well stacked for small forward types, without bringing in another.

Curious selections.

I am also a Nick!
So that Monty Python Sketch got it wrong?
....

Nick: G'day, Nick!
Nick: Oh, Hello Nick!
Nick: How are you Nick?
Nick: A bit crooked, Nick.
Nick: Where's Nick?
Nick: He's not 'ere, Nick.
Nick: Blimey, it's hot in here, Nick.
Nick: Hot enough to boil a Macca19's bum!
Nick: That's a strange expression, Nick.

Team not playing all that well.

Complaints directed at coaches and their selections.

Who woulda thunk it!

Too much angst over selections of periphery players. To me the real problem is lack of run and players not presenting, not being in a good position to receive.

Totally agree. We have have had something missing in our team balance in recent weeks. The entire side hasn't gelled all year ... Something needs to change. As much as I have enjoyed seeing Young get a go, and Ah Chee in as sub the last few weeks, O'Shea is a proven AFL player. Amon gives as what have missed in a fit Polec, and Impey is a given ... Get him in.

I am happy to back this selection in ... Go boys, go!

Also, I have loved Ah Chee's cameos as sub, but this is about player development. He WILL be back! Giving a few of the fringe guys some opportunities is great IMO. I suppose the question mark has been O'Shea, but fair go ... He was easily first-22 late last year, and many here have called for him to come in at various times since round one. Happy to see him get a shot.

So after 1 bad loss it is "the team hasn't gelled all year", after 15m of the best football we've produced vs hawthorn, an exciting attacking goal for goal game vs North, and an unfortunate loss vs Freo away, closest anyone has gotten to them this year?

Riiiight.

What we have and do works when it works and works bloody well. It's not flawless or fool proof but what is?

Injury to Wines and Lobbe aside, the lineup in our first choice players has been consistent. That's why the focus has shifted from the players to the coaching.
