I'm glad. Not that hes injured, but that he is taking some time away from the game. He needs it. Been sensational for us.

I think it is time for Heppel to officially take over the captaincy, weather it be next season or this week. He'll be stand in captain anyway.

I'm glad that they're putting out for injury. I'm absolutely certain that he's carrying something else like a groin or lower back as well. He's looked stiff as a board all year.

This is a great chance for the club to play more kids. Surely the pressure is off now. No one will care about the results and all the players need to is put in a spirited effort. I hope everyone else that is carrying anything is also put out for surgery now.

I have no problem with McKenna not playing and being held over until next season. We need to make a call on Aylett this year, hence, he should get a game first.
Aylett should be retained but they're idiots so who knows...

Not sure what his outstanding trait is
He's got great endurance and is also quick. He wins a ton of hard ball. One of the best tacklers at the club. What are his faults? Only okay foot skills and 50/50 overhead.

Look, I like his style but if they don't play him for the rest of this season, I'd prefer he was delisted. Can't keep hanging onto VFL footballers.
He's a rookie so we can hold onto him another 2 years there.

Colour me thoroughly unsurprised. Looked in career best physical shape for the first month of the year. I wonder when he did it?

i must admit I am sceptical..jobe didnt favour his arm at all and if he injured it against hawthorn why didnt they scan it just for precaution? It doesnt really matter anyway. I just think the club is going out of its way to tell porkies. "here is the incident where it happened" jobe looked really relieved and relaxed in his interview. hope he renews his love for the game in time for 2016.

As I said, that footage is a classic subluxation of the shoulder. There's no doubt of the injury IMO.

I think what may have happened is it was kept quiet because he was just going to play with it.

After the weekend they've quickly realised there's no point.

I think it actually signals the club the is genuinely conceding the year for the first time.

Season is over anyway so we don't have a lot to play for.

****, I hate this term. With a passion.

We have plenty to "play for".

* It's the first time in 3 years that we can play the kids and find out their worth... rather than adding top up after top up.
* All in all, our coaching staff is still raw. They need to learn more on tactics, match ups and filling holes.
* Joe D has no pressure now to be the "40 goal forward" we need, just run at packs and lead, lead, lead. If need be, play him in the 2's.
* I have no doubt that Dyson was told of Jobe's situation and that he had been appointed the new captain. He took the last speech in the huddle and all eyes were on him. There's more responsibility to being captain of an AFL club than just a gee up and looking good for the camera.
* McKenna, Fantasisa, Aylet and Long (if there's an LTI) need games.
* From a PR perspective, start retiring guys early and give them a farewell game - give something for the crowds to come out for

Good, Jobe doesn't have to get dropped for being in poor form.
He's been below par, well below par, but to suggest poor enough to get dropped is absolute nonsense.

I've had enough of these shit comments, to be honest.

It's kind of sad to see people questioning whether this is a legitimate injury.. the last thing anyone wants is an operation.

BTW...he's been carrying another injury for a couple of months.

go on...

Does it say anything that he played his 200th when he shouldn't have? Lets hope not...

Assume Heppell gets his chance to lead the group for the rest of the season.

Double father son credits or a family friend credit,,,,yeah that would be good

I'm glad he is being placed on ice for the remainder of the season. From an outsider's perspective, this appears to be what is best for Jobe as a person.

FWIW, I also agree that it appears he has been injured for the majority of the season, (he hasn't been able to run, let alone move freely for quite some time), but even that aside, he appears to be suffering mentally/emotionally.

Massively biased, but I doubt anyone would disagree with the sentiments that he is an absolute champion of the club and the game.

It's good to see the club protecting fragile players - Expect two or three more operations this month.
