I will say this - I get the feeling that there won't be a ton of trades involving KPP players this uear. There are a few in FA (Henderson, Kruezer, Carlisle, Hawkins, Dixon) and not a lot of teams who require such players - enough to offer enough money to pry players away.

This is off the back of KPP players being traded (Boyd, Bruce, Waite, Ryder, Jacksh) last trade period and so many first round draft picks being KPP.
That could put us in a pretty strong position at trade time then if someone does desperately want a KPP.
While there are a few talls this year, the main ones will go in the first 2 picks, so it doesn't leave much for anyone else, especially those who want someone who can perform straight away.
I'd rather hold on to our talls, but for the right deal...

The only FA in that list is Kreuzer. Hawkins re-signed.

Have heard this too. They're all over Carlisle early days with the Doggies as the main rivals. Have cooled a little as it became likely that Henderson would re-sign. Will know more after the Blues sign up a new coach.

guy on Bulldogs board who has good info has said they've said no emphatically to Carlisle. Some issues with him.

How would people feel about this:

Richmond:
Out - picks 14 + 32
In - Aish + Yarran
Brisbane:
Out - Aish + pick 20
In - picks 14 + 32
Carlton:
Out - Yarran
In - pick 20

?

Doggies can't afford too have 2 short on their list for 2yrs.

Motlop , Aish , Yarran are the 3 outside creative types who are rumoured to be on the move . With all clubs having them in that order .
Norf and RFC are rumoured to be the ones eyeing that type off , with Geelong and Carlton keen to replace with similar type if they loose them . I doubt any club would take 2 of them . Carlton are also rumoured to be losing Henderson and if so will join Brisbane as chasing a KPP .

I'd offer him some pepsi but from what I hear he is not a pepsi man!:D

Does he order a coke with ice but hold the coke?

Dangerfield?
interesting that Paul said Danger is motivated by winning flags and not money well if he goes to geelong who are sliding he will not win a flag would be a silly move

Here's a list of un contracted players that I would be willing for Richmond to chase:
CEY
Aish
Sheridan
Crozier
Motlop
Blicavs
Gorringe
Treloar
Jed Anderson
Hartung
Toumpas
Andrew Moore
Lewis Jetta.
But I don't want Richmond to repeat the mistakes of 2001 and think that we are only a few pieces from the top and sacrifice too much. Gotta be smart and not go 1 step forward and 2 steps back

Motlop wants to stay with his mates at geelong. But them hopeful of dangerfield will not be offered the dollars north and richmond are offering. If danger stays with adelaide motlop will be with the cats. If not he will be with one of us if he is after a bigger pay check.
did support north as a kid followed his older brothers everywhere hopefully north get him is a star goodluck.

TOTALLY missed Hawkins re-signing.

Have not heard they have emphatically said no. But they have cooled down their interest. I should clarify that this was over a month ago. It may have changed. I know Carlton are fairly interested however. I believe the issues were more so frailty and his attitude which was magnified when he demanded to play back a month or so ago - which is fairly well known

I think the reasoning behind it is two fold:
If Danger goes it's to one club. Geelong.
If Motlop goes there's a good chance you won't be the only club in it.

Secondly, we have a million and half plus change available waiting for Dangerfield. Not many clubs if any would.
The expectation is that Motlop might go for 700+ and that many clubs before Richmond could afford that.

Also at the end of the day if it all goes ****y for the Cats we can get something - i.e. unders for Motlop. It would suck but we take it.
It gets harder for the Crows if they knock back a compo pick (of say pick 10) and then try to squeeze 2 x first rounders or Motlop and a first rounder out of the Cats. We don't have Dangerfield already so it's not a net loss if we don't end up with him.
what bullshit, you have too sack veterans to fit in new player or players, we allready have the room due to long time forward planing, for your info the hawks have considerable room also.

Calm your titts I was replying to a post. And your reply just goes to show how little you know about the vagaries of the salary cap and Geelong's position if you think the most successful club of the past decade hasn't engaged in some "forward planning". Read my post again carefully too - you're obviously a little confused. I never said that you can't afford him just that other clubs who can also will be ahead of you in the draft given your expected high finish this year...

What a lot of these cats supporters are forgetting, IF Motlop says he wants to come to us, it will be the Brad Ottens all over again. They will accept what we offer, like we did with them. We did not decide to dump Ottens in the ND, we traded and so will they.
We are fully aware just don't wanna acknowledge :P After the Christensen and Mumford episodes we are under no illusions about how it will go down.

Thanks for your insight

If Steven Motlop selects Richmond and wants to come, Geelong will deal and our 1st pick will get it done - No doubt about that
#12-#15 is a reasonable pick maybe 2-3 unders but gues whatt we dont have it and will happen for what we have

Geelong are reasonable to deal with and will go through without fuss

Its the Yarran for our #32-#34 that will be harder to get done
