Regarding not having a coach. Just my opinion, but I'd prefer to have no coach rather than the flog you have creating more issues for your team. But that's for another thread.

Funny you should say that, Hird is probably the biggest ace Essendon has when it comes to trying to keep him.

You can think what you like, but JC himself likes him, which is all that matters here.

In any case I think he’ll go (my opinion) but to say he’s agreed to join Carlton is just plain wrong. You can argue all you like but if moving clubs Carlton is not compelling is the slightest at the moment compared to other options he’ll probably have.

Having no coach is a big hurdle when trying to sign players, as you can’t give the player an accurate idea of what his role will be and where your team is going. It was the same with us when we had a crack at Judd. Not being able to have a chat to your prospective boss makes it hard. There’s no way you’d rather have “no coach” when recruiting players.

They were speaking to Scott Lucas on SEN tonight. He is not Carlisle manager. Didn't give too much away really if he knows anything. But said a lot of players have re signed by now and it's not looking promising. However there are a few players out of contract I can think of that aren't really discussed.
