Think I read an article which said Carlisle was looking for 700k per season! Couldn't afford him and Treloar at that price.

Nor does he warrant that much money lol. 500K max on exposed form of last 2 seasons, plus the whole drug scandal hanging over his head would arguably push that to 450k IMO.

So you doing another Boyd deal?

Spend heaps on money on a Tall who play VFL next year?;)
Boyd will be just fine, he will be cherry ripe by finals time, it did Crameri a world of good having a spell in the 2's. Obviously not ideal though

Not good news about Treloar, he isn't playing this weekend: "Treloar has been given the week off to rest a persistent groin complaint."

This could be completely off the mark, but a mate of mine works with Taylor Adams' brother and he's just heard Trealor has agreed on a contract with the pies, and GWS got wind of it and won't play him again for the rest of the year. He's a pretty reliable source too

Thanks for letting us know. Very interesting. You'd think they'd want to have a crack at making the 8 and get some finals footy exposure for their young group and that Treloar would help make that happen. Don't worry Adam, if you come to us next year we'll make the 8 and you'll get some finals exposure!

Nice, if true, although I imagine they are even more likely to play hardball on the trade if that's how they feel about it.

To put things into perspective, Trealor had 9 touches in the last quarter on Sunday. His groin in fine mate

I could Believe that as a Possible Reason

Your wrong because I just traded him into my supercoach team and now I have no trades left to replace him

Not sure I understand why they would do that if true. GWS still have a chance of making finals. Not playing Treloar in a midfield already robbed of Shiel certainly diminishes their chances of that happening.

So GWS. A team fighting for their first ever finals berth with a young side that was slaughtered for three years. Won't play one of their best 6 players for the vital last 4 games that could decide their season. Because he has agreed to leave next season

Spare me. What drivel

Well I see on here that anyone with Inside Info is Considered a Idiot and a Troll:rolleyes:

You're entitled to your opinion, but just ask yourself this, would it be a good example for Leon Cameron to give a bloke a game of footy who has agreed to terms on a contract at a rival club when they are trying to build a culture and an identity? After the Tom Boyd situation last year the club has to make a stand. What sort of example does it set for the younger players?
(again these aren't my words)

A good example? If I were a GWS player and knew that was how a departing team mate was being treated is be shocked to be honest. Clubs trade players in and out all the time and delist others without batting an eyelid. To expect such a degree of loyalty from a player who is being offered significantly less than their market value, and then essentially crack the sads and not play him when they realise he won't be low balled stinks of unprofessionalism.

As an addition to that, I'd be upset if the club I played for threw away the opportunity for me to play my first finals series out of some warped idea of excluding a certain player being 'culture building'.

Could be u professionalism on both sides of the coin by agreeing to a contract with another club during a season.
I'm also not saying it's the right thing to do!
That's just what I've heard

I think you'll find he hasn't, (against the rules).
His manager has probably said to GWS, I've got a deal from x club and I'm advising Adam to take it.

And GWS knew that with the amount of draft picks they were given by the AFL that other clubs would come knocking for their players

Regardless of what Treloar has or hasn't agreed to, throwing away their best opportunity to play in their maiden finals series by not playing their best available side is ridiculous. I'd be pissed if I was a GWS player and what you said were true.

I agree! but at the end of the day, all the boys have resigned. It might be his teammates who have kicked up a stink about it, I'll try and find out for you

If that was true why wouldn't GWS just announce he is out for the year with a groin complaint instead of saying he is out for 1 week which will create a lot of media attention when/if he doesn't play the following weeks

Completely agree, but I don't think I could handle the heartache if we recruited him and he sat on the sidelines for years. Having to endure Reid, Freeman and to a lesser extent, Scharenbergs injury woes has been horrible. So many 'what if's' over the last two years in regards to how we could have performed with those 3 all fit.

thats interesting, but what purpose does that serve GWS, no point cracking the sads and not playing him when they are a sneaky chance of making their first finals appearance

He also had 5 tackles before he got a disposal. Funny game.
