Huh, I'd be open to trading with Collingwood. 1st round pick would do nicely.

There was something like that floating on our board a week ago. Mentioned Carlisle contacted the Pies . That got a cold shower pretty quickly and convincingly . Maybe your source hasn't caugt up with that.It seems we may be speaking to the same person/people Calder_Daddy....

Bombers didn't get Carlisle in the Burgoyne trade, they got a draft pick. They could've taken a lot of different players.
It would be an impressive effort if Collingwood could satisfy GWS, Brisbane and Essendon to land the three biggest targets in one trade period.
My thoughts too. Very entertaining but a bridge too far I reckon. And on top of that we want to keep Scharenberg .Surely the pies can't get Treloar, Aish and Carlisle?
It could work out as (if Scharenberg leaves):I honestly give us a chance at satisfying both Brisbane (as hard as that was last year) and GWS, but I don't know about Essendon.
Aside from trade value, I'm not sure Carlisle is a good fit for us and the supposed culture that Bucks is trying to build.
The only way I could see us satisfying Essendon is if they wanted a swap with Witts. Not sure if be happy with that given the WADA stuff hanging over his head and Witts' potential. I desperately want us to keep him, but I'm not sure he or Grundy can function together in the same teamI honestly give us a chance at satisfying both Brisbane (as hard as that was last year) and GWS, but I don't know about Essendon.

Even if you get a first round pick for Scharenberg? We'd most likely take that. The only way I could see us satisfying Essendon is if they wanted a swap with Witts. I'm not convinced Scharenberg is leaving to be honest. Latest scuttlebutt seems to be that Aish will nominate the Pies, who is best mates with Berg, and Berg's management have begun negotiations with the Pies.Even if you get a first round pick for Scharenberg? We'd most likely take that.
I do like Witts but if the rumours surrounding Zac Smith from GC are true I'd rather the first pick.I'd probably rather give up Witts than a Pick 8 (as you suggested) to Essendon. I think a usable ruckman would be of more value to Essendon than a first round pick anyway. Some will probably say otherwise though.
That's obviously a hypothetical if Scharenberg left though.
Fair enough, last I heard was that he was most likely going back home.I'm not convinced Scharenberg is leaving to be honest. Latest scuttlebutt seems to be that Aish will nominate the Pies, who is best mates with Berg, and Berg's management have begun negotiations with the Pies.
It may all be one big coincidence, but I get the feeling that having the opportunity to play footy with one of his best mates has tipped the scales in Collingwood's favour to retain him.
There was another rumour going around that the Dogs had offered Witts a long term deal and were prepared to part with their first pick for him. Could be potentially on-traded to Essendon in a deal for Carlisle if it comes to fruition.I do like Witts but if the rumours surrounding Zac Smith from GC are true I'd rather the first pick.
I think Kennedy and Broomhead didn't sign until September last year. What's the latest that young players would usually pen a new contract?
If getting Aish was enough motivation for Scharenberg to stay, it's still a risk prior to any trade being completed with Brisbane.
