I won't go into the why or why not's of bringing Hardingham on-board other than to point out that at best it's a slight downgrade on PK, but my main point was that he isn't an AFL listed player in 2015 so I'm confused as to why his name would be put forward by Dave in this thread.

It's more for the draft talk, Knightmare's almanac or Snoop's annual list mgmt thread...

On why it would be a poor move he's 27 so doesn't particularly fit our age profile, he has the WADA cloud hanging over his head, his best season as a forward at AFL level produced 9 goals, he doesn't offer positional flexibility (he's a rubbish defender, IMO) and in 65 AFL matches he topped twenty possessions just 5 times.

If we're bringing in mature aged players formerly on AFL lists, IMO, they need to be clear best 22 immediately and that isn't something Hardingham provides. All told he's a journeyman at best that if brought into the club is Armstrong all over again and I'd rather give a shot to a Collingwood VFL listed player like Still, Close or Williams if we want a mature forward option.

I'm neither here nor there with Kreuzer- provided that we don't pay him too much. Despite what people say, Kreuzer is capable of drifting forward as a ruckman and taking a strong mark to kick a goal. He can pinch hit up forward with some effect. But When he has lined up to play predominantly as a chf or ff, he gets lost.

My preference is to use Jesse White as the back up ruckman to Grundy and Witts.

Although I'd prefer to keep Witts, I'd trade him if we got something that we couldn't refuse in return- draft pick or player.

I'd be happy with Grundy playing first ruck and White being his back up. Even if Grundy missed a game, and Witts was traded, I'd go in with White as the number 1 ruckman.

Save the cash on Kreuzer to give to shaz, freeman, Treloar Aish and anyone else we bring in.

If this is not related to Aish what would we get from Bris for him?

Their 2nd rounder might be a bit low and their 3rd a bit high. Any players of interest straight swap?

Personally I don't see the need because I like the mix of Elliott, Fasolo and Broomhead. However if we want one I'd stick to what we do best and target one in the draft.

The three I'd be most interested in are Ah Chee, Burton and Kerbatiah in that order.

Being forced to trade one in medium forwards I'd say Howe would be my primary target then Sicily who has shown a bit, IMO. Small forwards I really like Hall and adding him to the mix we already have would be sensational my fallback small would be Crozier.

At the end of the day I'm just not keen on guys that have had their shot and were proven to not be up to it (Hardingham was, IMO). I'd even prefer SJ if we're recycling that type of player ahead of a Hardingham type.

Haha. They, and many in the AFL world, still view these players as the draft pick they were taken at, not the output that player is displaying.

I mean, BenKen gets slaughtered on here for his AFL efforts, but he kills it in the VFL. Is it possible that these kids need some experience around them, even at NEAFL level to show their abilities?

I personally think SOS butchered a stack of their early picks. Look at that Jono O'Rourke. Pick 2 or 3 and is decidedly poo, even at Hawthorn. He was terrible for Box hill when we played them.

While GWS and Gold Coast continue to bleed young players, I won't shed a tear.

There are several others too, whom clubs seem to have been sucked in to trading for who aren't displaying much. I'm very much looking forward to the next few years of watching Carlton's 'saviour' of list management rebuild a list without ridiculous concessions. Should be like watching a car crash in slow motion

I think the bigger issue for GWS/GC has been talent development rather than identification. When you put a whole bunch of talented 18 year olds together they often develop much slower than if you had a few 18 year olds around a group of mature stars. It's the reason GC are still at the bottom of the ladder after all these years
