Traded Chris Yarran [to Richmond for Pick 19]

It's not going to be richmonds first I just can't see them giving it up. So then it looks to be a player plus richmonds second. The issue I see is there isn't a whole lot on their list that Carlton would want (not saying they are no good). I like Vlastuin but we are pretty well right off half back. Menadue hasn't done much and would be well unders. Can't see us wanting Griffiths or Astbury so that leaves Lennon and McBean. Would a deal of Yarran for Lennon with swap of seconds or carltons second for richmonds third work?
Why would you even bring up Vlastuin in no way would we trade a number 9 draft pick

Well Lennon isn't contracted and isn't signing for some reason and was a Carlton supporter growing up, may request a trade. Well that's the general rumor going around at least. So it only seems logical to put two and two together? We colud throw in Warnock ;)

lol, cause he barracked for someone as a kid makes absolutely no difference.

You clearly don't know how employment works.

I liked going to Toys R Us when I was a kid, however, I'm not leaving my current employer to join em!

This thread is going in circles. Carlton fans seem to be angling for our first pick or Lennon - which he's clearly not worth. My question to the bluesers is, what extra would you throw in to make a trade for our first rounder equitable?

And we think your second rounder and someone who has been playing mainly VFL most of the year isn't adequate either.

Sam Docherty came to Carlton for that exact reason after spending 2 years at Brisbane.

Sam Docherty left Brisbane for the same reason everyone else left Brisbane, ...it's Brisbane.

I'd consider Lennon + 2nd rounder for Yarran + 3rd rounder, but Lennon and our first rounder is effectively 2 first rounders, and since Bolton said Yarran on his 'best day' (which isn't often) is worth a first rounder, you'd be batshit crazy to suggest TWO first rounders. Lennon's going to be a very good player, maybe even a star.

I was only bringing him up in the context of young quality Richmond players that Carlton would be happy to trade for

As much as people say form this year has caused his value to decrease, we know what he can do when he's up and going. The fact that he clearly did not want to play in the navy blue did have an affect on form, so you can't base the trade value on form alone.

Heres one that hast been mentioned.
Im prepared for the backlash.

We over pay for Kruezer ensuring Carlton get pick2 than use that pick 2 to finalise the trade.

Lenon, Mcbean, Pick 12
for
Yarran and Pick 2.

Richmond either keep pick 2 or trade it to another club for a A-grade player.

Edit:
Essentially its
Lenon, Mcbean and Pick 12
for
Yarran and Kruezer

Yarran would be more than handy at the Hawks. They would give up there first rounder for him and I'm sure Yazz wouldn't mind playing there.
Just remember Yazz is under contact and we are under no obligation to get him to the Tigers.
If the tigers don't come up with a suitable trade we can shop Yarran around to whoever we like.

You guys can't just look at our list and pick who you want. It's not going to work that way, the same as if we can't just take Yarran for squat. Gotta be fair.

The guys up for discussion are - Astbury, Griffiths, Conca, Lennon, 2nd round pick, Bachelor, Menadue, anyone else makes it unfair on us, because they're either contracted, happy or very important.

I understand what you are saying however you don't barrack for toys r us or share the same passion like you would for a football team. I do think it can all change when a player is selected for another team as the dream of playing AFL would over shadow this but there will always be a soft spot for that team that made you passionate about footy in the first place.

Not, not fair, this is why Carlton supporters get pissed off. For Pick 2, you gotta take out either McBean or Lennon, throw in Ellis, Martin, Cotchin, Deledio, Rance, Riewoldt, etc.

I'm not sure his sole reason for leaving Brisbane was the fact that he barracked for Carlton as a boy.
Some things occurring at Brisbane and his desire to return to Victoria may have played a small part. ;)

I see your point and I think it's so crazy it just might work but as soon as Carlton see they have pick #2 they will forget the rest of the deal and take their two key position players :)

I'd say money, relationships, family, location were much more important that childhood nostalgia. But it could always play a little part, I won't pretend it wouldn't. Dom Tyson was a big Richmond supporter, went to Melbourne.

Carlton would never give away pick 2

Without us over paying for Kruezer there is no pick2.
Take it or leave it.

There are people wanting a second round pick and lennon, which is ridiculous and wont happen, you Carlton fans are just as bad expecting overs for yarran

I love how some Carlton fans are jumping on the Carlisle thread bagging Essendon fans for wanting something decent in exchange for Carlisle. Yet on here they're doing the same with Yarran.

Same things being pointed out as to why Carlisle is not worth peanuts (eg this years form) is the same thing being defended in here about Yarran.

Very much doubt Hawks would give 1st rounder, don't know where you would get an idea like that. Cray Cray. There is no one else jumping out of the ground to pick him up. Still can't figure out why we are. Downhill skier, sook. We have enough of those thanks

I think it's stock standard for every club mate.
We all overrate our players and think they are worth more than what they actually are.
Yarran is not worth a first rounder and there is no chance of the deal happening for our first pick.
We may need to get another club involved to get Carlton a pick in the mid 20's, but he will ultimately get to Richmond.
