Oh my god we finally develop our own very good KPP after a long drought and now there are rumours he wants to leave. Makes me anxious given he's still uncontracted. Hmm nervous times ahead. Really like him and he is our future.

Losing Pearce would be a body blow, only decent KPP we've drafted in 15 years and he pisses off after 10 games or so. If that happened I reckon we should officially give up on Taberner as a forward and groom him to be our next key defender, reckon he has the tools. Dawson, Silvagni and Tanner Smith as our only tall defenders semi-capable of playing on gorilla forwards makes me shudder.

The is bad news for freo, losing A.Pearce.

I was literally just thinking the same thing. Playing as a defender could actually suit Taberner more. He would have more support back there and wouldn't have to think overthink things. He's a great size, huge tank and a good athlete.

The Chris Tarrant. If he can successfully make the transition he could also potentially prove to be an effective swingman, confidence in his game will be massive for him. Playing as a key forward in our team vying as an heir for Pav's spot must feel like a huge monkey on the back of guys like Taberner/Apeness/Pearce and even Clarke and Hannath (lol).

It's a little sad how we still desperately need Pav to go around again next year, I've given up on the dream of seeing Pav running around up forward attracting a third-string defender and serving as a luxury rather than vital cog.

Alex Pearce is uncontracted but I would be looking for a top ten pick in trade to give him up.

AGREE..... Not alot of people will know about him yet but boy they will find out who he is very soon! The kid is a star i said this in a previous post i havent been this excited about a player since fyfes first season!!!

I wonder who was with McCarthy when he was drinking, he could of been? Would be awkward if when he was drinking with McCarthy one of the topics was about how they're switching clubs.

I can't see Alex being tempted by any club when he has a huge opportunity and guaranteed spot in the Best 22 of a successful team. Surely he would relish the task of being Macca's replacement.

Those who know would have identified him very, very early in his AFL level contributions for us this season.

I worry that he has been offered huge cash to move.

Kenyan we want you to stay Moose :(

I can't see APearce seeking a trade given Maca just retired.

There could be all sorts of reason that we don't know about, including the good old fashion $$.

I can't see why he would want out, but something must be up because we would have certainly put an offer to him by this stage.

My guess is it's just the details that need to be worked out, but the details might not be that minor. The sort of money/length that Bond and co. would have set aside for his contract half way through the year would be much smaller than what he'd be asking and deserve now - it's probably requiring some rearranging of things given we're also trying to make room for some serious dealings with the likes of Bennell and McCarthy.

So hypothetically, would we entertain a straight swap of AP for McCarthy?

Don't like it, but If, and I mean big IF AP genuinely doesn't want to continue with Freo, then in the scheme of things that's a not a bad deal. If he wanted out and we didn't have the likes of Cam clearly wanting to come here, we would be left with a mid 1st at best to maybe even 2nd round pick for an uncontracted player like AP - so, hypothetically speaking, that sort of swap wouldn't be that bad.

I thought Hogan had already signed with Demons, unless they're re-doing it. Not sure how it works myself but this is interesting

I was the one who asked AP whether he was going to sign up, he definitely said hopefully soon we are working out the details.
Now i am worried that GWS have put an offer for him! I hope we don't lose him but my confidence in signing him has gone down if he gets offered decent money elsewhere.

I mean to be honest it's not like players are going to say to supporters "I'm not signing" when the season is still in session. I wouldn't trust a player's word unless you're on a closer basis.

He'll play 250 games as Elvis' replacement before he considers 'other offers'.
After which he'll continue in the Purple.

That's way I see it too.
A lot of number crunching would be taking place right now given we'll probably be heavily involved in the upcoming 2015 trade period.
