In terms of trade, whats Sidebottom worth?

Man, he is going to cost you more than the big contract. You'll lose something valuable. I don't see outside run as an issue for North so not sure what they're up to here. If looking for a replacement for Boomer, Sidebottom is not the one you want.

Funny enough Kennedy would be a great pick up for them if given a chance

2nd rounder, Melbourne currently have pick 25.

We could end up with picks 22, 24, 25, and 26 (currently ours)

Trade 2 those picks to Carlton or Essendon for earlier pick

They need as many picks in the top 25 as possible where we need a forward

I personally think if he does go he will flourish. I still think he will be a player - just behind a few too many at Collingwood.
Especially bringing in Treloar.

Absolutely agree and is a shame if he is traded. Seem him as a big upgrade on Blair just needed to get some decent game time.

Using a tram analogy, it's a bus dickhead.

Apparently we can't do what the Dogs did, "soaring up the ladder" (to an elimination final loss).

He did tend to go on a bit about the tram thing but essentially what he said was fairly standard. We are a young team who need more experience before we can challenge.

I don't know if i've missed the memo or im missing some greater reason, but can anyone give me a valid reason why when:

- Seedsman is half way out the door, Freeman is by all accounts a saint.

Why the Collingwood list management team has made it known they have absolutely no interest in Bennell, Jetta or even Yarran?In Seedsman and Freeman thats alot of pace walking out the door in an already fairly slow side, surely when there is those level of players available for essentially nothing(particularly in the case of Yarran and Bennell)?

I just don't get what im missing here, we are arguably one of the slowest teams in the comp and we are about to get slower yet we aren't even considering these three as viable options? Really i'd like someone elses opinion

You can't do a hell of a lot when a player wants to go home to WA.... Sure, we could throw cash at them. But is Jetta really the kinda player you pay huge money to? A good player, But by no means top 5 at the club, Which is the kind of money you'd have to spend to even tempt him.

Bennell is a headcase, Sure we could turn him around. MAYBE. But Bucks has made it pretty clear since he took over that he is establishing a culture of professionalism. That was clear when the bad boys and whingers were traded out. He would be contradicting himself and making himself a look a hypocrite to the club. Let alone running the risk of poisoning the list with a poor character.

Yarran, Who knows. Maybe we will make a late play. But I think the bottom line is, We are deep in talks with GWS about Treloar. WHO IS THE BEST PLAYER GOING THIS TRADE PERIOD. Once that trade is finalized (hopefully early) Then we know what assets we have available to trade for other guys, Like Aish, Yarran or whomever.

Ha, that's funny about the back to back Norm Smith call, I'd laugh if I saw that and probably egg him on. I dunno about the accusations about the shop owners disliking him though, he has lots of money and I dare say they'd be happy to have him in their shops. What trouble can one bloke with a lot of money to spend really cause for shop owners? I highly doubt he'd be stealing so I guess you mean he's tried to return damaged goods or complained about poor customer service without being too polite about it?

I've only ever heard good things about him from a mate of mine (who grew up with him in Wangaratta). I'd trust his word over some random bouncer. I think it's a massive assumption to say he's a shit bloke based on that.

Ok, so he got 2 or 3 selection flat out wrong in a decade? Pretty good if you ask me.

Malthouse got 2 or 3 wrong in his first 2 or 3 years. Let alone how many he got wrong over 12.

I was just using those as examples. Muston, Morton are 2 more off the top of my head. Plenty of others. Anyway, it's the list manager who selects the players.
