Beat me to it on Hardisty. Unusual for us not to give a second year on rookie list. Hawks must have decided he had limited upside, or he wasn't knuckling down and doing the work.

The if bit in regards to Woody is because there was some talk around mid season the he was looking for more opportunity and had is dad / manager (dunno which one) in his ear to try his hand at Carlton, they still might be vaguely interested as a rookie.

Colour me surprised on Hardisty. Thought he showed a bit for Box Hill whenever he played in the senior team. On the other hand, he was also a fair bit off senior footy for Hawthorn.

Yep, we wouldnt delist a rookie to re-rookie after 1 year.....they get 2 years on the rookie list.

And 3 spots on the rookie (2 if we pick Woody back up) [-Grim, -Hard, -Kiwi]

Reckon there will be a little more jostling of main roster spots in the coming days. Still no clarity over Jedi, Joffa, Suckling or WhiteX.

+1 surprised with Hardisty. He's the only rookie that we picked up fresh last year that made the jump to senior VFL.

Understand L.Langford probably has extra points given he's coming from further back plus the name factor - and both his father and brother were relatively late bloomers.

JML also struggled to get a consistent run going but clearly has a massive upside.

I'm guessing Hardisty either was judged to be close to his ceiling or we have our eye on a particular rookie selection (given Woodward will hopefully take one spot and Grimley leaving frees another).

There was a photo of Hodge celebrating after the game on Saturday with fans on the lap around the ground and I'm sure one of the blokes hanging over the fence was Dylan. Saw it in the paper this morning, I think.

On GF night I was talking to a bloke who grew up with Hodgey and still lives out that way - he said that the younger Hodge wasn't likely to make it to the AFL any time soon. Also ran into one of Cheney's brothers that night - was a big one

Collingwood leads the way with third party deals. Outside of the salary cap upon signing these guys get free Holden's, free first class Emirates flights, and the one's who enjoy doing media get a ch9 contract. Plus they are the biggest club in the country, building a solid young list. They are going to be a force in the not too distant future.

Don't forget that our players will be getting free Audis next year.
