Well that's a good way to do business, it won't come to that

Fair chance it will....Summary from Leigh on 3AW

Leigh Matthews on Aish:

  • Trading has to have all parties being winners.
  • Trading your young players you can't win - so don't trade them.
  • Aish won't be traded. Unequivocal again.
  • Not about him personally - good bloke.
  • No point in drafting an 18 year old without getting 4+ years out of him.
  • Draft picks never as valuable as you think at the time.
  • Lions aren't bluffing, just stating our position.
On Steve Johnson
  • Johnson he doesn't know if he'll be at the Lions or not.
  • Lions have spoken to Johnson about playing and then coaching but nothing has been offered.

Get lethal to line the highway from
The brisbane airport to the Gabba with the heads of young players that tried to leave through trade, on spears.. So all future 18 year old draftees and their parents see them upon arrival, that should send a message.

For anyone who wants to hear it.

Regardless of how this trade goes, there is something fundamentally wrong here. This isn't about just Aish anymore, the question has to be asked as to why we cant keep our draftees.

Would rather Aish get accustomed to Carlton so we could send him there with sweetener if needed for Bell and Casboult.

Carlton supporters believe you are giving them Pick 2 for Casboult and Bell!

They are already allocating jumper numbers to BOTH Schache and Weitering!

Also, they will be picking up all of (in no particular order) Carlisle, Treloar, Aish, Lennon, Freeman with their coveted #1 PSD pick. I never knew one pick could be stretched so far!

Never mind that no one of any note has walked to the PSD in the last decade.

Here is a list of the #1 PSD picks of recent times:

2014 - GWS = PASS
2013 - GWS = Jed Lamb
2012 - GWS = Bret Thornton
2011 - GWS = PASS
2010 - GC17 = Nathan Ablett
2009 - Melb = Liam Jurrah
2008 - Rich = David Gourdis
2007 - Carl = Cain Ackland
2006 - Carl - Dylan McClaren

Brisbane and Collingwood will do a fair deal on Aish - that much is certain.

All this talk of PSD etc is just that...talk.

About time this got raised, everything but this. It was our 'focus' over the last 2 years as well. Shattering.

I know I'm stating the obvious but geezuz Pickering is a f'wit. One of his quotes from his SEN interview today.

"As I said it’s nothing against Brisbane Lions Football Club, but they’ve relocated a kid from Adelaide to Brisbane and that’s what happens with the draft."

Yep, you're right genius. That is what happens with the draft, kids sometimes have to relocate. Now tell that to all of the kids you help move after two heckin'g years and spare us all the trouble! w***er.

Just like Buckley, looks like we will beat Collingwood in a Grand Final soon. Pearce Hanley doing a Akermanis.

Pardon the intrusion.

Hypothetically we get Pick 22 for Seedsman & 24 for Freeman.

The value of 22 is 845 points, 24 is 785. Total points 1630 points.

The value of Pick 7 is 1644 points, Pick 8 is 1551.

If Collingwood gave Pick 22/24 to Brisbane, it would be a very fair trade.

I think that argument loses some merit in what is a very shallow draft.

Maybe for another club, but as Leigh stated, it's pointless trading out a 19/20 year old for an 18 year old, to then repeat the cycle in 2 years.

Oxley + 22 would be much more up Brisbane's alley, expect that if any trade is done.
