Traded James Aish [traded to Collingwood for #26 and St Kilda's 2016 second round pick]

2nd rounders in a shallow draft wont be enough for aish. its insulting to the lions
Not sure how 2nd round pick + two 3rd round picks= two 2nd round picks anyway. Offering more than a 3rd round pick for Seedsman or Kennedy would be moronic.
I'm sure you'll try to argue Oxley is average just like Collingwood supporters were saying Crisp is, but he's a 22yo kid with a great kick and a great mark and has had some top level performances this year, just has been very inconsistent. Few highlights:
33 disposals against Adelaide
26 disposals, 11 marks, 5 tackles and a goal against Carlton
27 disposals and a goal against Gold Coast
23 disposals and 11 marks against West Coast

If you or your club don't rate him so be it, but I don't think that will help you with the AFL house next time you make an argument about needing special treatment because most of your list is from outside QLD if you let go of an opportunity like this.
I'm more worried about the part where he was constantly subbed off and, occasional games he got big numbers in aside, contributed very little to your back 6. I'd take him for a late pick. As part of the Aish trade- probably not. No idea why you think we should place more value on below average QLDers just because they're from QLD.

I'd take that but I'm starting to think the club won't which terrifies me deeply.

They won't as far as I'm aware. Let's hope I'm wrong though because it'll be the best outcome for everyone involved, IMO.

Na, I think just pick 19 should do just like ur Courier Mail paper has suggested

With respect, it's not really our courier mail.

I usually play "spot the AFL story" with that paper, mostly just journos wacking themselves off over the Broncos.

Oh, and scandals, lots of scandals.

Again, our club is gnashing their teeth so you'll have to pay way more to get Aish from a trade.

From a purely objective standpoint Collingwood just have to trade up the draft, get a pick in the high teens, offer it to us as a sort of "we can be a mature club can you?" move at us, if we still say no, pick him up in the National Draft with that pick.

I must be the only Brisbane fan who can see this ending terribly but hey, makes trade week fun so I'll just buy my membership on the 19th and enjoy the show.

You're right to be wary of Oxley he is 100% not what your club needs.

What you've just said is moronic and uneducated.

It's the equivalent of me saying Aish ain't worth a second rounder. Take the blinkers off or watch more than Brisbane games before giving silly opinions.

This is from the Courier Mail so suspect Lions fans know more about the author than I do, but have quoted the relevant parts relating to this trade (if I have broken any quoting rules please let me know).

I thought everyone here would be interested.
Ha funny post, the anti-collingwood key board warriors who think they are lethO And schwabO will be out in force to attack your post ;)

I think that's a fair assessment of what Kennedy and Seedsman are worth, don't think many Collingwood supporters would disagree if they played for another club.

Sure do. We have threads dedicated to him on our board:

What more has Aish shown at senior level to suggest he is worth more than Seedsman and Kennedy picks combined?

32 games vs 0 games? Can freeman even play?
Those that have seen him have likened him to a young Dangerfield (both in and outside of Collingwood).

For the record no one is disputing that at this stage of their development Aish is worth more than Freeman. But the logic of the Saints supporter that was being questioned is that 3 x second rounders for Aish is insulting but 1 x 2nd rounder for Freeman is not, given both have similar potential going forward, though as you say Aish will be a little further advanced in development thanks to injury.

I think his point may just be that we never got the opportunity to find out. Surprising as it may seem Collingwood also don't like losing guys with talent that we can build around.

Yeah I don't understand the message thing to be honest, we've drafted really well lately, of our 9 picks since the go home 5 only Aish has requested a trade and he's been touted as a flight risk this whole time.

I can't see how the club could say no to 22,23,25 for Aish+2016 3rd in good faith to be honest.

Considering we've been linked to Bell, Astbury, Jansen, Casboult, Anderson and somebody else I'm forgetting for sure we could turn the Aish trade into 3 of those and actually come out with a good win for the club.

There are many ways to skin a cat.

It has been proposed the Treloar deal sees Collingwood sending their 2 first round picks & GWS will 'flip flop' their second round pick back to Collingwood from 2016. This pick could be utilised on the Aish deal.

Yes, Aish has a bit more in the bank IMO.

I'd rather not take 2016 picks if possible.

One of Leigh Matthews' points was that trading a player after 2 years for a draft pick sets you back 2 years, so I can't see him accepting a pick that would set us back 3 years.

Although we could just do the sane thing and up our age profile by trading draft picks right?
