Probably for the final year of his contract... really depends on how much under we were. If we didn't actually need to put them on Vets list then we wouldn't have.

I think Newman has been eligible since 2011 but i know for awhile we didn't put him on it because we needed to get up to minimum payments.

Kid is great size, coming from further back then most other kids and i saw him play VFL for us against the hawks and was one of our better players till he came off half way through the third.

27 touches and 6 goals in a game of footy is special at any level.

We should draft Lachie Weller just for his missus. Sick to death of hearing about 40 year old Megan Gale and her melting face. Weller's chick is a legit 10/10 and was probably the hottest one at the Brownlow. Blows my mind when everyone constantly craps on about how lucky Hampson is. He's a good looking 6'7" pro athlete and he's dating some busted up 40 year old? Hammer should be pulling better quality chicks than Weller is.

Id rather keep next years first unless we are getting a gun. Stronger draft and not keen to trade it just for the hell of it. Also Ah Chee no garuntee to make it to our pick

Good point on the draft upgrade but I don't think so on Griff. I was a big fan but I think the took a step back this year

Straight swap Griffiths for Weller instead. I'm pretty sure he's a Tiger supporter and I'm sure he'd definitely be top 10 in this years draft

Versatile player that can play at either end of the field. Proven he can take a strong mark and snag a few goals.
Weller is a midfielder/winger type, who hasn't shown all that much since he has been drafted.

One was battling for a spot in an elite midfield. One was kept out of the forward line/ side by Steve Morris

Not much point for Freo unless they really rate Griffiths. They need 2 1st rounders to pick up McCarthy. Even then Bennell might only cost them a 2nd rounder so they may not even need to try get an extra 1st.

Yeah agreed. I was firmly on the trade Griff boat a month or so ago but i really doubt we get the value for him. Better off having him on the list especially if we arent actively chasing a ruckman this season. Whilst i dont really rate him as a ruckman he can atleast give Ivvy a chopout from time to time.
