Sorry for the intrusion.

This post may not reveal anything but I just left icon park and was sitting 3m away from SOS, Adrian Dodoro and another essendon official having trade discussions.

Unfortunately I didn't hear the players names as I was in a meeting of my own but the end result was a "no deal" from Dodoro.

Not bad................but only on the strength of the 2015 Yarran.

We'd have to take it but may watch Yarran's quality elsewhere......or maybe not.

yeah I don't love it, was hoping for a bit higher for both...

yarran value =15 to 20, so can live with 17. Even before 2015, i reckon his value is there. Jeez on 2015 alone his value would be 25+. so Id be happy with 17.

Bell however, i reckon his value is 25-32ish... i would have preferred slightly more for him, especially in this draft. although if we can trade 31 and 20 for the GWS boys no complaint.

Exactly:

essentially yarran and bell for tomlinson, plowman, lamb, phillips and sumner... Not bad

I'd take it.

Pray to god the Cats stink it up next year, and we get a PP (likely end of 1st round) and trade Gibbs to Adelaide or Port for a low 1st rounder.

Hit next years draft with 1, 10, 12, 19, 20 or thereabouts.

Not concerned at all about Rice, means we can use the pick we had earmarked for him on someone as good if not better, and someone who fits a need as opposed to another HBF.

It's a "No deal" from him everytime. Thanks for the update dude!

If we trade Gibbs next year for a late first,

we might as well trade him and 20 to adelaide for 9 and 13

SOS was just asking DDoo if they'd take Warnock for #4.....

No worries. SOS was in gym gear so I doubt he was at etihad at all today. To avoid media maybe ?

The only other bit of info is as Dodoro and the other official were leaving , Neil craig rocked up.

I'm not sure who yelled it out but someone said "give us carlisle " in a jovial manner.

Dodoro just reading from his template.

Trading future picks reminds me of first home buyer loans - the $7000 or so just getting added to the cost. It's raising the ceiling of what clubs can realistically ask for talent (see mooted treloar trade), now that every club has more currency in their pocket. How long until a club asks for 3 first rounders for a player?

So what happened to Walker & Geelong's 2nd for Henderson?

Never mind..............best forgotten.

Apparently that changed once other parties showed interest in Walker.
The good thing is our deal was done quick today. Have to hand it to Cats, they don't muck around like some other clubs.

I very much doubt that Carlton preferred 2nd rounder and Walker over next year's first rounder.
