Tom browne posted something about saying how he thinks it's a fairly good deal. Then deleted, then posted saying he's just spoken to carlisles management, and it's on a knifes edge / getting heated.

My guess is he posted after speaking with them, and got the jist that they are angry. This will hurt us IMO

If it really meant anything clubs would all be lining up trade trade their 2nd, 3rd and 4th picks for a first

Even before you apply the discount it is designed to get players to their nominated club. Fairer than when it was a flat third round pick sure, but still heavily weighted to the club trying to match a bid.

Callum Twomey saying that the Saints offer is equivalent of trading Carisle for pick 40 (going by points system). Utterly insulting to us to even bother presenting that.

It equals Pick 40
Pick 5 = 1878 pts plus pick 63 (112 points) less pick 23 (815 points) less pick 25 (756 points) = 429 points = Pick 40 (429 points).

I just can't believe the offer the Saints have put it. It's horrible.

It is believed Saints' offer was picks No.5 and 63 for Carlisle, as well as the Bombers' picks 23 and 25.

Why would Essendon even consider that after they got the Hawks deal. This is dragging on. Essendon have another player in their sites that they need to get organised. Just do the deal with the Hawks ASAP so we can all move on.


I really hope Essendon have given the Saints a proper deadline. Make a fair offer by midday on Monday or Carlisle is a Hawk.

Essendon want the hawthorn trade because we will get pick 8 from GWS for those picks. Why would we want to trade BOTH our seconds for a 3 pick upgrade?

We'd much rather 4, 8, 23 and 25 than 4 and 5 and 61.
