PSD/Rookie Draft

Andrew Moore signed with the Tigers. The list of worthwhile delistees is getting smaller.
Moore isn't that great. He's been in the system for years and is pretty terrible. Reckon all Richmond have gotten themselves is a list clogger.

Do we need to change the thread title to PSD/Rookie Draft?

Nothing obvious for PSD at this point, though Geelong and a couple of other teams still have to make a cut or two. I'm a big fan of Shane Kersten as a KPF option if he shakes free. Unless something worthwhile does become available I reckon we pass and save money. Add some more rookies to try and develop.

The four big kids delisted by Port are interesting. Shaw is overrated IMO and looks to be heading West - Not the slightest interest from me. Jarrad Redden (24) got about 16 games at Port but has knee issues. 205cm and can play a bit - Rookie option if his medicals come through. Mitch Harvey I like. Key forward prospect (20) (197/93) lost behind a wall of KPF options which just got deeper with Dixon - worth a close look at as a rookie I reckon. Dougal Howard (19) (199/92) plays a very similar style to Henderson, but taller. KPF who hasn't fully come on, but in line with Harvey behind others, certainly not the worst rookie prospect. Probably a better mark and kick than Henderson. Blank canvas really.

Haven't they tried and failed at the moneyball approach.

I'd like to know our current moneyball strategy for goalkickers where will our 15 goals per game come from?

Never seen him play but a few on here were talking about him
The Tigers look for bargains all the time. #9 pick, 50 odd games in six seasons, brother of former Tiger Kelvin Moore. Port's midfield would have limited his opportunities. We'll know after 2016 whether it's the correct decision. The Tigers will give him a chance. I'm looking at an ex-Crow as a better prospect. Matthew Wright has the engine to play midfield, can kick a goal and loves contested footy. It's only fair that we consider him seeing Menzel probably got his spot on the Crows list.

Going out on a very thin branch here, but what about poaching Daw ahead of Norf (assuming due diligence on his upcoming court case, innocence before guilt etc.)?

24, played two absolute blinders out of 16 games including his 2 goal, 25 hitout, 8 tackles against the Tiggers in round 23, raw af. Always going to struggle to get a ruck spot behind Toddwick, and North have a lot of third talls, but we are light on in both areas. Thoughts?

Early Daws still....

Gorringe would be worth a serious look, although he'd probably prefer to head home to SA. This is a 200 cm kid who not only can ruck and play KPF, two things we could use, he could legitimately play as the old ruck rover. Super strong runner for a big guy. Seems he's just looking for more playing time.

He has some serious legal issues about to hit. if you're going to go Sudanese, the U/18 AA ruckman has some serious upside. Pass on Majak for me.

Was just about to come and post something along these lines after seeing he was delisted. Would take him in the PSD in a heartbeat. Well, I would if we didn't bring in Phillips. That makes me a little less confident...

Port were very keen on him last year but couldn't get a deal done after the delays with Dodoro re Ryder. Gorringe had a bit of a hissy fit at Port after it fell thru.

Like - if Nyoun is available in rookie draft, reckon we pounce with first pick. Although SOS may not want to go into a season with 5 recognised rucks on the list (Kreuz, Wood, Phillips and Korcheck already secured).

This is also why I can't see us grabbing McKay (200cm).
