I like him a lot. Looks like a very good decision maker with very neat kicking skills, and decent pace. The last melbourne grammar student we picked up turned out ok in Z Merrett.

One of a number of Charger's prospects that appeal to me. Won't be superstars, but rather best 22 players who add something to the team.

I'm starting to really warm to the idea of getting Oliver. I mean, our last Morrish medal winner is currently our future captain in Heppell.

I think he'll end up in the top 3 mids of this years draft, possibly even top 2 in a few years time. I think he'll end up being better than Parish.

Oliver and Francis would be my pick, but would be reasonably happy with Curnow as well. Not sure about Weideman though.

Surely it is 2 of Parish/Weideman/Curnow/Francis/Oliver

I can almost see Melbourne doing a, well, a 'Melbourne' and letting both Parish and Weideman past.

At which point I'm getting the lotion out.

I'd prefer we get Oliver and Francis at that point. We have a star forward and with resting rucks and maybe even a bit player we have enough. We should get Brown late in ND too so we have more KPP flexibility and there will likely be a decent tall at 24. eth-dog can see Skinner there, maybe McKay. If Melbourne take Parish, and I'd take eth-dog's word on that (if you want to know why go look at him putting a certain small inside mid from Melbourne in the top 20 mids in the league), then we take those two mids, yeah Francis will end up a mid I reckon (Heppell played a fair bit of juniors at half back), then there will be Weiderman, Curnow, McKay * 2 and Skinner after that so we should see at least one of them fall to 24.

Can I pat myself on the back for one of longest and tortured sentences of all time there. I mean brackets inside commas. It's almost computer code.

Yeah, definitely Oliver and Francis - I loved Oliver's recent AFL trump video, just such a competitive beast, smooth mover on the outside and an amazing bull on the inside, professional (lost a tonne of weight for the combine, where he tested really well) and can play forward too - kicked 6 goals, I think in his last game.

Might not the most popular opinion but IMO, he's the 2nd best non-academy midfielder behind Parish and I would say if he had more exposed form, he might have overtaken Parish.

If Francis/Oliver are taken at 4, 5 and then at 24/25, we pick up a combination of classy/speedy midfielders in Tucker who might slide, Morgan, Cunningham or Tom Cole then our list looks a whole lot better - imagine if we also snared Mitch Brown in the 50s.

Read the comments leading up to my post then. You have had a go out of context. It was picking decent kpfs with picks outside top 10. So you agree with what I said. He is another pick outside top ten capable of having a career as a decent kpf.

I'll close this off now
Carlisle wont be a quality key forward. Simple.

On afl.com.au not sure how accurate but we know who the players that we are looking at with 4 and 5.

Weideman, Parish, Curnow, Francis, Milera crew

At 24/25 it makes mention of Rioli, B.Mckay, T.Cole and Bonner and its quite know if available we also like Tucker but maybe thats softened or hes no chance to be available. Alot if these players match what we need.

Personally cant see us taking both Weideman and B.Mckay though.

Seems Rioli could be our small forward solution whilst we are keen on wingman/HBF no surprise but we do need some fresh talent in this area funnily enough.

Goddard/Stanton/Dempsey on the way out. A.Browne, Aylett and Dalgleish delisted. I just hope they are true wingmen.

Joe Daniher, Crameri and Carlisle werent targets??????? Are u serious Dodoro? we went sideways because our lack of foot speed enabled the opposition to flood into the dangerous area's we wanted to kick into. The only time we looked dangerous was when Colyer got the ball and broke the lines.

SERIOUSLY Some people are deluded.
JD the skinny young kid who was easily pushed under the ball, Carlisle the guy who didn't want to be there and wouldn't lead at the ball carrier, and crameri the undersizer?

You're spot on with that last bit though.

I would extend 10 of them without a problem. Watson, Stanton, Myers, Langford, Laverde, Howlett, Gleeson, Hooker, Hocking, Goddard. The rest can either shape up or ship out.

Gwilt and Cooney are the only two I'd be prepared to put a line through at this early stage, and even then a lot can change in one year.

I'd re-sign Ashby, Edwards, Gleeson, Goddard, Gwilt (50/50), Hocking, Hooker, Howlett (50/50), Langford, Laverde, Smack, Myers, Stanton and Watson no problem. 12-14 re-signed, 5-7 players to bring into the senior list.

Howlett's curious. As a depth player I'm fine with it, but I think we can get some value on the market for him.

Gwilt ahead of Pears, Dempsey, Kommer and even Ambrose?
