Carlton rest jumpers traditionally. Usually it is premiership player jumpers, but future hall of famers and Brownlow medalists would qualify too I think.

Any player that makes an extraordinary contribution to the Carlton Football Club over a long period of time should have their guernsey retired for a year. Just a small gesture of respect. The least Judd deserves.

If 5 was the first number available this year, Weitering should get it, then whatever is the next number available McKay should get it and so on.
Might be interesting to see what number young Silvagni would end up with that way.

Yes, truly significant numbers, and you could probably pick any number on the list and find a great that once wore it. We've had so many.I rank 25, 1 & 2 way higher.
But this belongs to the recently retired Chris Judd. His name alone evokes inspiration, let alone his heroic deeds over the years.
I just think, out of respect for this great man, we rest the number 5 at least for a little while...

I rank 25, 1 & 2 way higher.
Clem Smith - current, Andrew Walker - current, Troy Menzel - traded. Nothing there to rest, but we certainly have in the past.
We rested 25 for a year post Jezza and Fev. Nobody wore #2 for 3 years after Nicholls and for 2 years after Diesel. #1 was rested for 2 years after SOS. #21 for 2 years after Bradley. #43 for 2 years after Kouta. It's just what we do.

Sheik, you are a tough, no nonsense man. I'm looking to coach my third flag in a row next year, fifth overall, any chance you're interested in a senior assistant coaching role? I reckon your uncompromising approach would help us go one more time...
I have coached a cricket club to 23 premierships in the past 11-years. My methods & approach are not always accepted or understood initially but by the time the trophy night comes around, there is usually a fair few players who wouldn't have had it any other way.
Which club are you at ??

Well obviously I knew we had rested those numbers after those players retired. Blueseum provides the number of years.

I'd rather not say, if that's alright. I'm not sure any of my boys are on here, but in case they are, I'd rather stay anonymous, otherwise I'll get too much lip from them.. Although if they are in here, they probably would've figured it out by now... Still, I'll keep that quiet for now.
