I'd say hes about 33/1 to play round 1 - Isn't even with the main training group yet so will be a long way behind.Besides - he's too important to risk given his versatility and ability to play as a key forward
33/1?

Is that SportsBet or Ladbrokes?

Most of the 12 would probably say they'll stay right now, but 9months is a long time to think about things.

Hopefully they start thinking unfinished business, but I doubt it. If players are thinking they might leave already I think this feeling will only grow as time pushes on.

Dont underestimate other clubs trying to poach the 12 players with the premise of a fresh start.

There's going to be a long season of these sort of articles for all 12 of these players (well, maybe not Pears because he won't be sought after and not Watson or Stanton because they're older).

Might as well buckle yourself in for the ride, but I also wouldn't bother panicking at the appearance of every article yet either.

I hope this is just his manager squeezing cash out of Essendon. :(
I can see his manager telling him to wait until mid-season. When the suspension isn't still so raw. I doubt this is Cale being pissed. At least I hope it's not.

If he was going to leave he would have already, he certainly didn't lack either opportunity or catalysts. He's still here because like the rest who've stayed, they believe themselves innocent. Not to mention a strong team bond and sense of sticking together. Or so I keep telling myself anyway.

A year away from the club to reflect privately could go either way.. (too early to tell, as Doss says).

Western Australian newspaper The West Australian speculates on former West Australian players returning to Western Australia.

Article does sound like it was written by a Freo cheerleader...

Coming out of contract. Eligible for free agency.

These articles were going to happen without the ban.

As Doss said, no point fretting just yet. It's a long season, and many more articles will come.

Of the 12 Hooker is probably the one I least expect to stay.

We tried to trade him twice he backed himself in and showed us his worth then the club gets him banned for year year. He owes the club nothing but it owes him heaps.

Worth noting he's been hands down our most passionate player through all the bullshit. When plenty had their heads down he was still busting his gut, vocal in supporting team mates and celebrating even the minor things. The guy clearly gives a shit, wouldn't surprise me to see him stick fat with his team mates.

All the things you mentioned happened before the 12 month suspension though.

Not going to bother reading what is presumably tripe. Even if hooker was pissed off I reckon he'd probably assess options as to which club would be best to end up at, "bidding war" is a wank.

Yes but they also happened while a potential 2 year ban was hanging over his head.

Yes, I'm just putting myself in his shoes, I'd be gone without doubt.

I'll be wrapped if he stays and obviously he's one of the 3 must must keeps along with Heppell and Hurley, but definitely not going to get my hopes up.

I reckon a lot of that could be put down to being a competitive beast.
