I think it was more spurred on by McDeadshit saying he had no idea why they hadn't been dealt with yet at Senate Estimates last week.
I don't think asada ever wanted any of it to go to contested hearing. The 34 forced their hand, and CAS paved the way for an anything goes enforcement policy: if they say you're a cheat then you're a cheat.

Senate ask about Bock?

CAS saved Mcnuggets from being embarrassed lol.

Hmmmm intersting

I just find it odd that it's only now it's been banned even though she has been using it for over a decade with no problems.
its gained popularity to the point WADA looked at it further and decided it was being taken to increase performance. Probably a good idea to ban it IMO given its clearly being taken for non-medical reasons

I feel old because most people associate "Wrecking Ball" with the Miley song, whereas to me it's Springsteen's song I think of.

I've always found a good feed of carbohydrates the night before helps my energy levels for exercise the next day. WADA should look into banning spaghetti.

Australian Scientists Show Beetroot Is An Effective Workout Enhancer

Nitrate-rich beetroot juice might enhance performance among top level athletes, according to a joint study from The University of Western Australia, the Western Australian Institute of Sport and the Australian Institute of Sport.

Dr Peter Peeling from UWA’s School of Sport Science, Exercise and Health at UWA was one of the scientists who looked at the influence beetroot supplements had on physiological and performance outcomes in elite kayakers.

The research saw six national-level male and five international-level female kayakers take part in a two-part study at the Western Australian Institute of Sport and the National Regatta Centre in Penrith.

“We looked at the difference that the use of a commercially available 70ml beetroot shot made to the time-trial performance and paddling economy of the athletes involved,” Dr Peeling said.

“In laboratory-based four minute ergometer tests, the beetroot supplement had a small effect on the distance covered, but was effective in improving the task economy of the male kayakers. When we used a greater volume of beetroot juice (140ml) among our female participants during a field-based 500m kayaking time-trial, we found there was a meaningful performance improvement of 1.7 per cent.”

“Given that the margin between gold and silver medals in the Men’s K1-1000m and the Women’s K1-500m races at the 2012 London Olympic Games was 0.3 per cent and 1.0 per cent respectively, the relatively small performance changes that we recorded are clearly relevant.”

She played it well, her masking agent was purposely losing to Serena Williams all these years.

She's unlucky I'm not working at WADA, i'd let that off. Damn!

Haven't you read the HTB? Cheating by teh drugzzz is a heinous and most despicable crime that must be punished.

That being said, if Maria provided a seafood dinner and a 6 pack of Blue Moon followed by a ripstart I'd make it go away for her.

"She had been taking Mildronate since 2006, but it was added to WADA's banned list this year. She said she did not look at the updated ban list before taking the drug."

So now she's banned from playing Tennis lol.
So it hasn't been a performance enhancing substance for 9 years but this year WADA have decided that it is performance enhancing.

The blood transfusion for soft tissue injuries that Hawthorn is using was banned but now it is not.

Actovegin is not banned despite being a treatment for soft tissues injuries which is derived from calfs blood but TB4 which is from the same source and for the same purpose is banned.

In the racing industry, common sense prevails and trainers and vets are informed of substances that they are considering banning usually with warnings applied for a few months on introduction.

WADA needs to stop beating around the bush and just ban everything from going into an athletes body. That way all sports people would die and they would no longer have any cheats..

So basically all athletes are banned from tested positive to anything/everything
