so what happened? threaten to punch on or something?

I got a warning for some trivial thing and I decided Id had enough of the guy in charge. Instead of just not posting anymore I decided to get banned so I had no choice but to never post again. I said something to him vis PM and then gave the phone to a few mates and some that weren't mates and said go your hardest. They went way harder than I ever would and was banned for life. My fault for sure but I certainly wouldn't have said things that were apparently said. That isn't my style. I then sent a PM to 2 people here who post on both sites saying exactly what I have said to you and to apologise, not so I could go back there but I was embarrassed. The worst part is he has read what I wrote and is now telling people on there I admitted to everything which is a lie. Anyway happy to be here and will certainly try to stay within the rules.

And I would never threaten to punch anyone. I was to scared to do that.

So if you can win a brownlow you can get a side from 12 wins to a flag but if you cant win a brownlow you cant get side up the ladder. I don't know how North won a flag with Carey in the side. And if left and went to another club he wouldn't make the difference anyway because he didn't win a brownlow. And if they got Judd they lose Hodge. In 2010 both had the same possessions but Judd had 14 more brownlow votes. Doubt that was going to get them from 12 wins to beating either the pies, us or Geelong. Matter of fact I'm sure it wouldn't have.
Agree to disagree :)

How's Saintsational going?

I have always liked your posts but man you can be abrasive, I just thought people stepped over the line into shouting him down, I have seen Defacto give as good as he gets and doesn't need me to play us V them. I don't even agree but I think he has a reasonable opinion.

I think it is a silly opinion. Let's take it to its logical conclusion.

We come last in 2015, third year for Richo and we had gone backward. He is sacked, also some of the young players can't see a future so we have Webster, Newnes, Stevo and Armo looking to move on. Carlisle decides his future is elsewhere, Freeman decided to stay at Collingwood. Rooney and Joey call it a day because there is no future or direction.

Our membership peaks at under thirty and we are in worse strife than Brisbane two years ago and we are back in rebuild mode with a new coach.

But hey, we have Weitering instead of McCartin.

Oh and don't knock my opinion because after all you like uncomfortable opinions. Even though it is as valid as defacto's opinion it is ludicrious but also a logical fallacy built on supposition and straw man arguments.

But nobody has the right to challenge it because like defacto's it is a unprovable hypothetical.

Lol what... are you taking the piss? [emoji23]

Why didn't they win in 2005 then? How did Carlton go?

He was no superman as P66 says. Either is Hodge but I would put his four flags against Judds one.

Flags is the name of the game. That's why Harvey is left out of a lot of conversations
Judd was a once in a generation midfielder at his best he was the best the competition had seen in sometime

Hodge was a spiritual leader who played across half back and led his team to multiple flags. How much were the flags attributed to him, I'm not so sure. Its too hard to separate. He's obviously played a part but I'm a believer in the bigger hawthorn system and the sum of its parts. Take out hodge and I'm sure someone else steps up which is something we've seen at hawthorn regularly.

So all you really can do is compare player to player on their output and its judd by a decent margin. I mean taking carlton to finals hahaha thats no small accomplishment. Itd be like roos taking Melbourne to finals. I recall games where he almost got them over the line against our mob when we were at our best. But judd wasnt a leader.

If we are talking leadership, hodge has judd covered but i think in modern football you need several leaders and characteristic that goes fairly deep into your list. Gone are the days of having 1 really strong captain and coach. Which is why i think removing hodge from hawthorn wouldnt have affected them that much.

As for 05... did you see their fwd line?

The judd vs hodge comparison would be like a robert harvey vs john worsfold. Worsfold was an amazing captain for wce and took them to two flags but he has nothing on harvey IMO

Btw for what its worth i certainly didnt mean to offend anyone. Just think the years flipping would have presented us with better options when it comes to pointy end talent which is what we are crying out for right now
Dont think you offended anyone.
Just think it is premature to compare underdeveloped footballers and bemoan that we didnt come last to get one underdeveloped footballer for another.
The consequences of coming last is more than draft picks

No. Just ludicrousas your hypothetical.
You wished us to come last in 2015. Logical consequences
I think you need to finish last once or twice during a rebuild to get the elite talent

Do i hope we finish last this year now that we are well into the rebuild, no

I do see what you are saying about the off field impact which i didnt factor in. You are correct about the off field consequences of finishing 5th last in 2014 only to bottom out in 2015. However i would point out that our membership rose after we finished last off the back of a poor year because the club engaged its supporters again and built some hope for the future. I think we could have sold the vision to the future and improved membership again but maybe not at the rate we have seen this year

I just find the talent better when you switch the ladder positions, thats all

Anyways like people have suggested, you included, its a hypothetical that didnt and wont happen

I agree on challenging opinions just not going the man when they have the opposite opinion. You don't need to justify why you are right, I said I don't necessarily agree with him just think it's a valid point of view. He's not advocating for genocide -he likes Wietering over Paddy and thinks De Goey looks ahead of our kid, big ****ing deal. It's about who he prefers not a slur on our entire belief system or questioning everything to have come before or after.

No. Just ludicrousas your hypothetical.

It's not logical conclusion, it's manipulating an argument to prove a point, He said he wished he'd come last a different year than we did as a flippant comment. You then said he wished us to come last last year. You argue like Clemantine Ford. It's all black and white and nothing in between. That defies logic in my eyes.

Agree with this.

If you picked a team to win a football game you would go Judd.

If you picked a team to win a premiership you would go Hodge.

And if your team is shit neither will help, yet its possible to win without one of them.
