Everything looks rosy in hindsight. The fact is, half that Arsenal team would struggle to get in a top 4 team of today. They were lucky they had 4 or 5 exceptional players though, along with the pace of Henry.

And I agree with JD, over half of the teams in the league now would challenge for a top 4 spot in the leagues of 10-15 years ago.

Onto Matchday 30 matters. One of those games for a contender where only the 3 points matter. If Leicester get over Palace then it's more probable than not.

On paper the best Chelsea & United sides over the past 10-15 years look better than that Arsenal side IMO.

Can't argue with the numbers though. And they are the only Invincibles.

Of the PL era.

The fact that Mou's side came and knocked them off their perch is testament to this. It also helped usher in the strongest era of the prem - the mid to late 00's. Ironically the time when Arsenal went into decline

I haven't seen the game, but was Leicester's win as jammy as the statistics suggest? 1 shot on target at home against Newcastle, with Newcastle having more shots overall makes it seem like Leicester got incredibly lucky once again.

Wasn't really jammy. We got the early goal and were then content to sit back and defend it. Newcastle may have had more shots overall but none really threatened.

Fair enough then. That's probably been the gameplan for most of the season, yeah?

Care to elaborate?
That was me being a bit salty. I still haven't got over Alderweireld and Dier wrestling each other instead of marking Huth at White Hart Lane after we'd dominated most of the game.

Yeah I think so. We've scored first in 20 out of 30 games this season, which is just incredible. Gives you a much better chance at winning, that's for sure.

The top teams have dropped and the rest have lifted, that's that

And I can take Ranieri Italian 1-0ing his way to the league

Well, you're certainly no fan, because I can't. These 1-0 games are not good for a person at all! So much tension!

As for the Invincibles, their achievement was an excellent one without question. Admittedly I think there are some better teams on paper, but then again, games aren't won on paper, you need the complete package, and well, Arsenal did something that Fergie never did. Could they do it against the lot of this season? I think it's going to be very difficult (then again, going invincible is a very difficult feat). As noted, the depth is stronger amongst the mid-tier, and it can take only one bad day for it to all come apart (hell, we gave a serious scare on that last day, and we were already down.)There's more chance for it to go wrong this season, I feel, but as noted, no matter what season, it's always going to be very difficult, so the fact they did it even once is just awesome.

These 1-0s are never easy, and I only saw half the game. It sounded like we weren't on it at all, Kante was the only one firing. But as they say about champion teams... you know the rest, but I feel this is what its going to be like for now until the end. It's time to do the Safety Dance, take our one chance, and leave y'all in a trance.

It does make me wonder one thing, everyone's talking about keeper of the season. I do wonder... what does it mean for Kasper? Because as of today's game, he's now 2nd in clean sheets for the season, and he's the starter of our attacks. (I know what the answer is, but I'm curious to know what the others think.)

As for Vardy, not going to lie, but I just feel that if Okazaki and Ulloa took their chances, I think he would be on double digit assists. The amount of work he does to create chances even when he's being marked like mad is insane. Unfortunately, I think that's one of the reasons why he's going to be left wing should he ever make it to that Euro squad. Come on Jamie, I know you can find number 20!

Ok just looked it up.

So you had:
Gilberto in the starting 11 who wouldn't get anywhere near starting at a top 6 club these days

Lehmann - the mad German. Average keeper

Piers - good at the time, would make an impact now but not a huge one.

Freddie Ljunberg - a squad player if he was in the current Tottenham team

Koulo Toure - pretty hopeless back then, a walking disaster now

Lauren - I don't even remember much about this dude

Campbell, Cole, Viera, Henry and Bergkamp are standouts in any era. But that's only five genuine worldies. No way that team would be coasting this league
Jesus Christ you're a peanut. I'm sure of it now more than ever.

And Pires would start at most if not all PL sides now in his pomp. No question.

And Lehmann was absolutely world class.

Pires would be the best player at all Premier League clubs at his best.

I'd nearly forgotten that. Thanks now I'm salty.

I can't forget it. If we finish 6 or fewer points behind Leicester in 2nd then that will have effectively been the game that decided the title. We had some poor draws early on and we've missed a couple of opportunities in the last week or so but that is the pivotal game so far this season, had we won it we'd a point clear on top.

I'd grudgingly agree with that re Pires. Think the Invincibles would likely go close to what they'd achieved in the current league, although with most of the top twelve having at least one or two game changers there might be a banana skin or two.

It's still a learning curve. It took about the first eight games for them to gel. So far it's a lot better than was expected.

Don't know why Arsenal fans are getting salty.

It's not personal, things move on, players get better - faster, fitter, more skilled.

And as I said some of the invincibles could still light up the prem today. However half of them wouldn't be plying their trade at a top 4 club. Stop getting all riled by this. Most of the Spurs players from that era would be playing in the championship if they were around now. Does this upset me? No
