Has anyone actually had a night, that they don't remember, due to alcohol?

I've had foggy memories, and difficulties remembering things.
But I always remember part of it... and with a bit of prompting I remember a lot more.

So I never believe the people that do something really bad, and instead of owning it, just insist that they cannot remember anything from that entire night.

My 26th birthday, started the day with brandy shandies, then mixed beers with Ardberg whisky for the rest of the day, can't remember at all past about 5:30 in the afternoon, and photos exist of me face down on my bed, with eyes drawn on my arse cheeks, and a flower on my crack.

Had it happen many times. Probably not a good way to drink but it's definitely occurred to me. A lot of times we go out I can't remember large chunks of the night but slowly piece together events but there's been probably half a dozen occasions where I remember zilch after a night out with mates. I guess it's sort of the drinking culture we have where we play drinking games before we go out and aim to get as smashed as possible.

In terms out the question, probably 10-12 beers will get me 'drunk' and probably 15 or so will get cause me not to remember large portions of nights.

Thanks for the replies.

I've had it where, when I first wake up, it takes me a while to work out where I am and how I got there. And there will be large chunks I don't remember. But when people start reminding me and showing me photos etc, it starts to come back to me.
I remember waking up on the grass, and finding my bike a metre back with a bent wheel, on the other side of the low pole fences that used to be around parks.
I don't remember crashing, but I remember parts of the ride.

I'm talking about 4-5 hours blocks, where someone will say they remember nothing. And no matter what prompting or aid, they still insist there is nothing there.

Don't drink as much as I did back in my 20s but can still put it away if I tried.

One of the guys in my office who is a old school networker and only does business over long lunches or pub sessions. His motto is that you need to be pissfit to do what he does.

If you have a few weeks or months off the sauce it takes a while to get back to peak drinking fitness.

I found over December and January just gone that I was in peak fitness, with work christmas parties, holidays and general bbq's during the long summer days. I found I could easily smash a six pack in a couple of house while out the back cooking the bbq or playing cricket with the kids and be perfectly fine.

Alcohol is like any other drug, you build up more of a tolerance the more often you do it and you need to drink more to get the same effects.

If you haven't drunk alcohol for a while you tend to get drunk more quickly if you get on it again but if you've been on the piss for a few nights in a row you can drink quite a lot and still feel almost sober as you've built up a tolerance to it.

When I drink Bourbon, I seemingly don't get beyond tipsy, and if I do, it's not drunk but ill.

On beer, it's 3-4 and I'm smashed! 2011 GF, MCG. It was between 6-8 mid strengths and I was, well...this

So there you have it, my finest moment. My 'mate' tells me he let me go to deal with security , turns around to find this. I vividly remember hearing the click of the camera. arseh*le. This is at least an hour after the final siren

One things I've noticed is I have trouble getting drunk twice in a day- like if I have a few beers around lunch time getting moderately drunk, then maybe have a few hours off back to full sobriety- but then if i try to start drinking again later in the evening the alcohol has almost no affect on me. Anyone else notice this? It's like there's a rule that once you've been drunk for the day that's it, no more!

Can't say I've ever stopped if I've gotten drunk at lunch I've kept going!

One of our first nights in the Greek islands went to a restaurant and the owner kept bringing out shots of ouzo, I particularly enjoyed it.. so much so I decided to buy a very cheap bottle on the way home. We were pretty pumped for our first night out and I decided to literally skulled 3/4 of the bottle. Cant remember what happened 30 minutes from that point, apparently dancing in a bar munting on the floor, mates then later found me riding a stationary quad bike.. which i decided to then fall asleep on. Liquorice, fennel seed anything like that makes me dry heave

I went to a pub once and only had a few glasses of Guiness and got pretty drunk and spewing - not sure if it was spiked

Yeah I've found that too, if you want to get properly drunk you need to keep on drinking once you start, having a break and sobering up kills your momentum.

One of the drunkest I've ever been was drinking Raki in Turkey which is their equivalent of Ouzo. Our tour group was at a function in Kusadasi where the beer service was slow as hell so we bought bottles of Raki from the bar instead and started doing shots while playing drinking games. The rest of the night is a blur, we ended up at a nightclub where I somehow got separated from the rest of my tour group and spent the rest of the night staggering around Kusadasi trying to find our hotel which I'd forgotten the name of. Not a drink I'd be keen on touching ever again.

Dunno. Never even felt tipsy before. Have a mate that goes ******* after one beer though. Poor fella, he's a really self-conscious drunk too so it doesn't usually end well for him.

Crikey those drinking games are dangerous! I only tried it once, but the more you lose, the drunker you get, then you lose more etc etc. Ended up pretty smashed

Not a whole night, but parts of the night I have no recollection. Many cab rides home I can't remember which is scary. Closest I've come to not remembering an entire night was in Berlin, went to some club and no measuring of drinks there at all. No idea what happened from about midnight onwards, still to this day I have no idea how I got back to my hotel, who I talked to or what I did. Very scary thinking about it.

That's a euphemism I haven't heard for years.

You're disgusting. My boy Marcus overdosed while shooting up marijuana and he almost died. Get help.

Depends on how fast I drink, where I drink, and with whom I drink.

I went to a bar a few weeks back and had twenty drinks (10 Rum and Limes, 6 Gin and Tonic's and 4 shots of Patron) in about two hours and felt fine.

Dude you are talking shit. 20 drinks of 30 ml nips is essentially nearly a full 700ml bottle of spirit. To have drunk that in 2 hours and felt fine, unless you're a 160kg Fijian, is quite frankly ludicrous.
