Cotchin consistently misses targets, he is pretty much barlow
We drafted Alex Forster at pick 29 in the 2011 draft, Yeo went pick 30Thing is we were desperate for talls, so we would have had to trade for another second rounder to be able to get Yeo and bring in the talks we were after.
They traded pick 28 for him. Our second rounder was pick 37... Alex Pearce.
Hindsight would have seen us choose Darling over poor Jayden Pitt and his dicky heart; trade that second round pick for Yeo; and take a punt on that overweight and unfit McGovern kid. And hopefully somehow squeeze a second rounder somewhere else to pick up Alex Pearce. But hindsight is wonderful. While the weags might enjoy the work Brad Shepard does for them, I'm sure if they could go back they'd use that pick 7 they had on Fyfe rather than him.

Yes 1 excuse.....Brad Lloyd a cancer on our clubIt makes me furious that we don't have at least 1 of Darling, Yeo and McGovern. There are no excuses, not even hindsight.

what is Ralph waiting for a decent pick? Tell me what decent players he has bought in in the picks in the top 30?

That Fyfe bloke goes alright.what is Ralph waiting for a decent pick? Tell me what decent players he has bought in in the picks in the top 30?
Sorry that was Phil Smart try againThat Fyfe bloke goes alright.
I'm still very, very hopeful on Crozier and Sheridan.Sorry that was Phil Smart try again
It's not a very good list is it? Why pick a spec like Simpson as a first rounder? Pitt instead of Darling???Mora was Smart. Apeness a guy with a knee problem and a rugby background? Sheridan is borderline even though he stuffed up ou PF last year, Weller and Tucker well time will tell? You happy with that strike rate and considering what other players were available?I'm still very, very hopeful on Crozier and Sheridan.
- Mora- who could have predicted that?
- Pitt- see above
- Simpson- risk that didn't pay off, but was what we neede
- Apeness- 3rd year, missed last year with injury, jury still out
- Weller- Has potential
- Tucker- Has potential
Pitt was not very good before his problem as well. Apeness had a knee injury before being drafted and does not look a good pick. It's not a very good list is it? why pick a spec like rioli with a first rounder???? only difference is it worked for hawks and not for us, simpson could have just as easily been a steal of the draft instead of a bust + have a look at the 2012 draft its not exactly a great one, picks 11 onwards haven't exactly set the world alightIt's not a very good list is it? Brodie Grundy, Dean Towers, Paprone were better picks alonewhy pick a spec like rioli with a first rounder???? only difference is it worked for hawks and not for us, simpson could have just as easily been a steal of the draft instead of a bust + have a look at the 2012 draft its not exactly a great one, picks 11 onwards haven't exactly set the world alight
Care to elaborateI've heard it isn't Lloyd who is the problem.
And if you look at Simpson's skills on the footy field, it wasn't his ability as a footballer that was a problem. If he worked out, it would've been steal of the draft. Unfortunately we just lucked out there.why pick a spec like rioli with a first rounder???? only difference is it worked for hawks and not for us, simpson could have just as easily been a steal of the draft instead of a bust + have a look at the 2012 draft its not exactly a great one, picks 11 onwards haven't exactly set the world alight
jeeez thats reaching, simpson had more potential then all of those picks.Brodie Grundy, Dean Towers, Paprone were better picks alone
Care to elaborate
Check out Pitts year... darling, Luke Parker, Alex Fasoli, Paul Puopolo, Cameron Guthrie, Josh Green, Jeremy Howe all picked not long afterPitt was not very good before his problem as well. Apeness had a knee injury before being drafted and does not look a good pick.
When has Clarke been a gun? Or looked like one?jeeez thats reaching, simpson had more potential then all of those picks.
At the time we had Moller up and coming + Clarke was looking like a gun and Sandi still had 5 years = no need for grundy
Towers can't even break into the sydney team full time, at draft time simpson was obviously the better choice
Paparone really hasn't done anything of note either
does it matter? if i had the choice now i would still take Clarke over Grundy, atleast he is kept out of the team by SandiWhen has Clarke been a gun? Or looked like one?
So your happy with our recruiting then? So why is our team shite? No effort, coincidence, act of nature, bad luck, poor management? Which one?Clarke's 2013 is better than anything Grundy has put together. If Clarke can get his knees right they'll be pretty even. Grundy's good at going missing in games, being serviceable but not great at ruck, and occasionally fluke a goal. All things Clarke can do too.
And Jeremy Howe is a hack. He can mark. That's about it.
