I dont believe we can afford to trade Billy Longer. Hickey is going well but lets remember how fragile his body has been in the past. For me Billy is the only other ruckman who could step up and be a finals player. Holmes is just a cheap stop gap and Peirce still has a way to go.

The reason I suggested trading Armitage is I believe the new rules and limited interchange have worked against him. He was never been a great aerobic athlete and seems to be struggling more this year with the extra workload. I believe he played his best footy last year and will continue to further struggle with the new pace of the game and will be replaceable before too long. Consequently I believe he is the perfect player to trade to someone like GCS in a player exchange. David has always maintained he would return to QLD after footy so he would be the perfect fit.

So if we can get a fit JOM, Prestia or similiar in the deal it would be the perfect fit for both clubs and prevent us from having to give up a 1st round pick. We can still go to the draft with our 1st pick and look at more midfielders.

Then with the development of other mids and if we can shake Hurley out of Essendon and with Carlisle returning and Freeman reaching his potential, I dont belive we would miss David as much as people believe. Tough decisions but I think if would be to our benefit in the long term!
I dont see us giving Armo a 3yr contract late last year then turning around & saying we want to trade you. If someone came to us & wanted Armo, i think we would see what the offer is, but otherwise, i doubt we would be the ones instigating the deal

They will wanna play finals next year so i cant see them moving on the mid in armo that drives us and punting on a kid/unknown

Well that's clearly not true bit he is probably on your list of not liking because he has red hair. O know you try to be funny by knocking nearly every player from other sides but occasionally a serious conversation is needed and saying he has been towelled up in every game isn't very serious.
hows it not serious? He's copped a bath in about 5 games this year

5 now. I thought it was every game. Can you name the games and his opponent? I watch them quite a lot and he has hardly been beaten. His marking is nearly the best of all the backmen. His kicking is a real issue and the fact he isn't a mid is even a bigger issue

Stop being funny, you are upsetting P66.

This is serious man

I like humour matter of fact love it. Knocking players isn't really that funny. I thought the idea of humour was to laugh. My mistake. Carry on. I'm going back to watch flying high

Lynch j roo n roo Waite red path all got the better of him, you'd think he wasn't going that good when he's copping it in the media and from Melbourne fans

So he played on all of them? He probably did but for bugger all of the match. For a start he didn't follow Roo around the ground. Anyway Ive found out it was just humour.

History shows that you are in a much stronger bargaining position when the player is contracted. Armo is a good honest player but to improve our list I strongly believe trading him needs to be considered.

So if you can see he is only an honest player why do you think another club would give us such a high pick?

I know and this is seriously shit.

Shame on Choomah for not reaching your lofty standards of humour or conversely, not being serious enough.

You should watch Good Morning Vietnam. Bruno Kirby's character knows whats funny, just like you do.

Value is the eye of the beholder. He may be worth more to another side than what he is to us, particularly a side that thinks they are a contender next year. Richmond is a prime example. If they start winning again towards the back end of the year and sneak into the 8, they will no doubt have expectations that they are a sneaky flag chance. Armo would instantly make them a better side. Clubs are prepared to stretch or overpay when they think they are in the mix (see Lovett trade, see Henderson trade last year). It happens, not frequently but it does happen.

FWIW, I think we would have to seriously consider taking any pick under 20 for Armo if it was on the table. It is not personal, I love Armo but we are more than a few quality youngsters short. We need as many bites at the cherry as possible over the next 2 years.

So again he isn't obviously quality if you say we are quality players short and you want to trade him. Value maybe in the eyes of the beholder but trading a mid to hope to get another mid makes little sense when we have 3 ruckmen and only one plays. Surely if we need to trade and they get similar value then a ruckman goes before a mid.

I know there is a bit of talk of getting Marchbank, but in all fairness, I don't know what we would trade. IMO, I would not want to down grade our first pick this year because we have done that last year.
In saying this, Nathan Hrovat was talked about a bit last off-season and is out of contract this year.
Hes 175cm and 78kg he has electric pace and IMO hes like a L. Neale product.

He can't crack a game at WB because hes injured and there midfield is elite. But he has shown hes more than capable at AFL level. He gets plenty of the footy, and can kick a goal as well.

If we can give up a third rounder for him I think we walk out thieves. Because he'll be in his 5th season in 2017, and I reckon he'll be ready to set the world on fire.

Feel free to enlighten us how we're going to turn a pick 21 from four years ago into a 3rd rounder.

Come on man.

They will just buckle and do as we command. Hrovat is probably worth only a third rounder.

We have got enough undersized players.
