I accept some things are hard to change in the course of a game, but choosing whether or not to tag a player is not one. Poor by Scott to let Gibbs run amok until the last quarter.

Funny how us dopey BigFooty posters were concerned about Gibbs coming into the game, with his blistering history against us. Well done to the coaches for electing not to play anyone on him, even with Murphy out for the entire game. Bolton sticks Curnow on Selwood and he gets belted at every opportunity, yet we let their best player run loose. Genius. :thumbsu:

A couple of weeks back Chris Scott mentioned in a presser that it appeared that the preseason hype was warranted and we were pretty good.

Didn't like it and we have been duly handed our arses in both games since playing unaccountable and bruise free footy.

Time to get back to basics.

Time to get back to basics.

That means looking to Dangerfield and Selwood to dominate again.
The question is . . . what if they are tiring and can't produce as they did the first 7 rounds of the season?

I'm going to make a bold statement here and suggest you just plainly made that up.

Knee jerk? We are third on the ladder and you want the coach sacked? Boy there have been some spoiled supporters the last decade.

Time for a change mate. You can't live in the past and if you aren't putting away certain sides don't expect to go to far this season.

Also poor kicking is a disease. If it's not rectified soon will be out of the 8 shortly.
With our quality list we should be putting away most sides every week.

We need a change of coach.

Hopefully West Coast do not annihilate Gold Coast today because our percentage has dropped right away.
We may be down to 4th by late this afternoon and believe it or not hbk, another loss to GWS next weekend, we very likely slip right down to 7th.

You want to sack him because we might lose and slip down to 7th? Tell you one thing, he would be the first 7-3 coach ever to be sacked I am thinking...

Despite how insipid the players performed, the tactics today were poor:thumbsdown:

agree with the side we have it comes down to coaching panel

Of course not the ship has sailed, We've now slid too far and the list has way too many holes. But if you think I'm saying this based on tonight then you're way off the mark. I've been saying it since 2013 when we gave up a 52 point lead to Lions.

My issue is the way we play our footy, it's the soft non-contested, mine as well not rock up to a stoppage, handball, handball handball footy that we play.

-The way we always bomb it in to our forward line on Tom's head
-The way we don't play man to man and keep a zone (especially when teams don't turn it over, we get exposed)
-Our poor kicking in from a behind
-Playing a 4 man tall defense every game and we get cut to shreds by small forwards.
- Guys that just stand around, where is our spread?
- Running 2 ways, Everyone has a go at Motlop for not running both ways but quite a few of our players don't.
- Poor execution missing targets after targets
- Overuse of the ball
- Because we overuse the ball, we try and break a tackle and get pinged with it
- Why is our forward-line always clogged with 5000000 players? Unless we get the fast break from our backline we seem to be real slow sometimes getting it in there.

Also think there is something up with our mental game. Why are we so flat the last 2 weeks when we where trying to playing for finals?

Those are things that the Coach can handle.

Deja Vu.

We've been here before. Didn't like it then, but wait! There's a difference, we have Dangerfield now and Smith!

Wake up Cats supporters and smell the roses, this thread isn't 391 pages for the fun of it you know. It's because these performances keep coming up. If you want to close this thread for good, Either Scott delivers or gets out of here. No excuses we have the best list since 2011 yet....

The only difference is we're given away a bunch of free kicks to go along with it and we can't kick for shit.
