There's something funny about these close Hawthorn wins...

They get favoured by the umps but they also just have some great, experienced leaders who know how to execute a great game plan and have belief in it. Tonight their experience was the difference. We hit the front and our young guys went into their shells while guys like Burgoyne just played like he was under no pressure at all and executed everything perfectly.
It was a great game and you have some amazing young players. They'll be around for a while causing trouble ( :))

Emojis in brackets. Pomojis?

They do it because they practise it, have been doing so for 10 years, and have leaders that know exactly what to do and most importantly execute it.

I mean, Burgoyne, Lewis, Rioli, Mitchell, Smith do it every time FFS.
wtf don't forget good bloke hodge......

If I've entertained I guess you should thank me.

I'm only about half serious. Not trolling, I do like to entertain the idea that something's going on, and I don't actually think it's all that far-fetched...folks are just too accepting sometimes. Not to say there is, but honestly not ruling it out.

They do get a helping hand but they tend to make a lot of their own luck, do you think it's easy to nail the shot Cyril did? Or Puopolo earlier in the year against Adelaide? Helping hand or not you still need to deliver, they do, the rest don't. Also people need to accept that champion teams tend to get favoured by officials in most sports.

I think they have such a mental edge over the rest it's not even funny anymore, that shot that buddy missed to put the swans 11 points up I bet he kicks against any other team, my mob aren't exactly great in front of goals but we absolutely bottled it that night we lost to them, Adelaide were also in a winning position had a shot for goal to put the Hawks out of it and missed, they swung it the other way and scored to win the game.

The only funny thing is the rest of the comp choking in the clutch against this team whilst they step it up, I'm sick of it but you have to respect it.

Just the musings of an autistic Perth boy, let him be.
As someone who works with autistic kids, can I just say they know better than this rubbish.

Shit posts (yours and OP).

I actually think this whole Hawthorn X-factor thing is interesting. I mean it could be completely legit, but you have to admit it's getting a bit predictable. There's just something about it, I dunno.

The two bullshit 50 metre penalties seemed to be at the perfect time and won them the game. It doesn't surprise me at all anymore.
The one at the end of the third quarter was harsh because Hawks players weren't pinged for that during the game. Final quarter one was obvious 50m can't complain about that.

Two mins to go Lewis third man up taps to Mitchell who kicks the ball mid air and ends up with Rioli kicking the winner. Nothing to do with umpires just they have played a lot of football together.

Umpiring was hard to follow but that's the fans fault for not knowing the rules.
That's the thing. You have champs in your team who can win a game in the dying moments - so do we. Sammy's kick is what won the game (and everyone after involved in that passage of play). Sure I'm happy we won but this shit kills footy. Was a great finish to a great game of footy. Hawks supporters laugh at this but ultimately it's really sad.

Everyone, myself included, is being very uncomplimentary about this thread.

Hang on. Uncomplimentary. The only word to contain each of the vowels in reverse order. Maybe there is something to this after all...
That's a bit facetious of you .. Hang on Facetious has all the vowels in order!! Many he's on to something
