sometimes i wonder what slammin sam docherty has to do .... he was clearly 2nd BOG yesterday

& our best against Port

good to hear commentators starting to acknowledge he would be a lock for AA this year if the team was picked now !!

I guess when Bolton and Chris Scott have chat they don't agree about very much.

If we assume that Guthrie didn't get an outright 4 votes...which would be unlikely I feel, the one coach didn't rate Docherty at all.

Which coach didn't go to the game?
Actually if Doc is consistently not getting many votes each week it's probably Bolton underrating his work.

Doc seems to very rarely rate a mention from Bolts when he does mention individuals. When asked questions specifically about Doc, the response always seems measured. Wouldn't surprise me if it was Bolts giving him donuts here.

A couple of games ago he singled Doc out as one of our leaders.

Yeah a couple of times I have heard him do this but usually when prompted by a specific question on Doc and often more focused on his very well noted off field leadership.

Look, my recollection could be wrong but I don't recall him volunteering game-day praise for Doc whereas I've heard it for certain others multiple times. That's just been my perception though, not stating it as fact.

Doc would be Bolton's first picked player.

So Curnow got 5 & 5, Rockliff 4 & 4, Weitering 3 & 2, Kerridge 3 & 1, Cripps 2 & Robinson 1. The 2 coaches obviously saw Kerridge's game differently.
Bolton - Curnow (5) Rockliff (4) Weitering (3) Cripps (2) Kerridge (1)
Leppa - Curnow (5) Rockliff (4) Kerridge (3) Weitering (2) Robinson (1)

Thats my bet

RND 15 - CARLTON V COLLINGWOOD

10 Pendlebury (Coll)
7 Sinclair (Coll)
4 Grundy (Coll)
4 Reid (Coll)
3 Simpson (Carl)
1 E. Curnow (Carl)
1 Docherty (Carl)

From those votes 1 coach gave Simpson 3 and the other didn't rate him, preferring Ed and Sam. Unbelievable, just unbelievable.

Based on my opinion that Grundy's game was a bit over-rated (hence 4 and 0) and Reid couldn't be overlooked (2 and 2) the voting was probably - Pendlebury 5, Sinclair 4, Simpson 3, Reid 2, CurnowDocherty 1 and Pendlebury 5, Grundy 4, Sinclair 3, Reid 2, Curnow/Docherty 1

Slightly related (which is more than my usual MO)....

I think I read the other day that there is only one AFL player named John, yet there are three Rorys (Rories? Rori?) on the Adelaide list...
I once had a friend called John when I was a kid. He had a massive birthmark on his face and a psycho dad who picked up dog sh** with his bare hands.
