Lets be honest here if we want immediate impact we will need to give something good to get something much better in return.
We only have 4 options which would net us a trade value which would be seen to be in our favour.
Jack, Rance, Martin and Cotchin.

Out of that list IMO Cotchin is the only one I wouldn't be too fussed to see walk if the trade was in our favour.

Many won't like this idea but if Cotchin was up to it and GC were willing to pay for it I would do.

Cotchin for Prestia and Gold Coasts 1st (Melbourne Pick) Pick #8 currently
On trade Pick#8 to GWS for Steele and Marchbank
Vickery - Let him walk hopefully we get a 2nd round compo for him
Dangle B.Ellis, Edwards and Conca for trade if nothing bites Im not fussed if all 3 are on our list for next season.
Free Agent a short term ruck solution lets be honest its the best thing we can do in a shit situation
Take Pick#5 or #6 to the draft
Take Vickery Compo to the draft and draft best available young Ruck
While we are at it let Rookie a Ruck from the VFL, WAFL or SANFL

In my honest to God opinion I would trade Cotchin before Deledio. Deledio is all class and even with a shit body he is much more of a match winner
than Cotchin ever will be. Deledio in our forward line could be 50 plus goal scorer.

IMO Cotchin being under sold on here. Was no surprise he had a elite year in 2012 when Jackson and tuck were in the guts supporting him.

If we can pull off Prestia and add another quality mid to take some heat off, well i could see chimp explode next year

Prestia and Pick #8 is not being under sold.
Dont get me wrong I think Cotchin is fantastic but if we want this so called rebuild to be quick we need a 2 for 1 trade in our favour and out of the 4 I posted I chose Cotchin.

How many clubs trade their elite players in their prime? Don't know of this ever happening. I could understand the rationale of trading Lids because of his age and the injuries he is getting but no way would trade the Chimp for players that have potential and not guaranteed to be guns.

Like ripping the heart and soul of the club trading Cotchin and would have a huge effect on the playing list.

I don't think so. Even though we aren't very good at picking up talent from the draft I still think we should keep our first draft pick.

Could have the complete opposite effect.
Last season I was on record saying we should trade B.Ellis for Cunnington and was laughed at.
Look at how thats turned out now. I know who I want out of those 2 on my list right about now.

Like I said we need a 2 for 1 to kick start our club and Cotchin is the only 1 available and IMO the only one out of the top 4 at our club that is replaceable.

Also Lids aint getting us shit. I would rather keep him. Get his body right and look after him and he will hold much more value to our club than other late first round pick
