The club that tried to discard him last year, mismanaged his injury in his supposedly break out year that could have landed him a lucrative contract?
Not saying he is spiteful but I reckon we are even. And all the best to him if he leaves. But 700k? Overrated. And at the Lions? Massive lolz there. He know he can do much better.

How was his injury mismanaged?

I'll give you that the club approached him to see if he was open to being traded, but I'm still on the fence on the mismanagement thing. And regardless of some on BF think he was, I'd be interested to see if Witts himself felt that he had been mismanaged. Perception can vary greatly in these cases.

Infection? I know that discussion has been had whether that comes with the territory or is mismanagement. Wouldn't know what is right or wrong but I am giving a possibility here.

I wouldn't think the club is to blame for that. Hospital patients get infections all the time.

I would agree with that statement but it is his perception that matters. Like he who-shall-not-be-named-with-dodgy-hamstrings didn’t like our medical staff either.

Witts doesn't strike me as the angry type which is probably why he has failed to step up. I'll take whatever we can get for him.

Yeah absolutely. A club is going to let a average player being offered big money walk for nothing..

We"ll take pick 20.

Then swap 20 & 24 for 1697 points.
Then give up those 2 picks for Gws(our first round pick) pick 7 which is 1644 points.

Essentially, we get our first rounder back.

GWS get 53 points extra for their Academy players.

Lose witts & pick 24 for pick 7. Not bad overall.

Sounds great but I think GWS will find a way to get extra points without giving away a top 10 pick

If they have any academy prospects tipped to go before the pick they got from us it would benefit them more to give it away for more points.

I think Witts will go to Richmond, but they don't have much to trade with.
Pick 6 is probably out of the question, and they have already traded their 2nd round pick.

If Brandon Ellis wasn't so slow with the ball and didn't always kick the ball sideways and try to do too much, I'd consider him

No no no. Downhill skier. Reminds me of Steven Motlop only plays when the team dominates.
Opposed to Witts never playing well at all. Edwards when he's on gets team going and most of his touches are constructive. He's the type of bloke we need delivering to our forwards

I think Marchbank is a better option for the list, young classy KPP, hard to find but Hoskin-Elliot is a unique footballer would pay to watch him play in the black and white.

Either one would be a significant injection of class to their playing position stocks.

Tony Shaw has stated tonight that the following should be traded delisted: Blair (has not signed a new contract), Brown, Macaffer, Witts (interest from up to 4 clubs), Cloke, Frost, Gault, Goldsack (believes he will retire), Toovey (ditto), White, Williams. He expects Swan will retire and has significant concerns about the future of Jamie Elliott. Is there anybody left?

Brown Im 50/50 on Cloke I think we should keep him but will probably want to go. The rest plus Oxley and Langdon should go.

I keep Oxley has he is actually a Good User of the Ball and we don't have many of them

Tony Shaw does not have a relevent opinion.

Tony Shaw is just about the only coach in the club's history who is worse than Nathan Buckley. Whilst it's an interesting post, I take it with a pinch of salt and have no idea why his irrelevant opinions are repeatedly put out into the world.
