What do we want in AFL Live 3

I think technically Tru Blu have the rights, and they just hire the developer of their choice (ie. the cheapest).

It's in development by Wicked Witch, so we're probably getting a PS4 version of AFL for the Wii.
 
Since licensing seems like the biggest hurdle, it'd be neat if Tru Blu and Big Ant could come together and work to negotiate a way to make a unlicensed Football game. That's the only way I could see it happening at this point, which is still a long shot. I doubt Tru Blu would be interested in doing something like that. I've basically given up on expecting anything good from a license AFL game or a Football game in general, after Big Ant was let go from development. Tru Blu basically admitted 2 wasn't even a good game when they announced it on Facebook, and it would need a further update.

I just want a decent career mode, accurate trading (Nat Fyfe for Sam Grimley and #36 should never happen) , new players added into every draft pool (unlike AFL2 which had the same blokes every year, and ran out of young players by season 3) and a creation hub.

I just want something sooner rather than later :(

You're gonna have to wait later for all those things. The sooner stuff is more of the same...
 
This Is What I Personally Want To See In AFL Live 3
  • Better Career Mode

AFL Live 2 career mode wasn’t the best. By adding some new things it’ll make AFL Live 3 career mode a lot better. An examples is.

Training modes - So you can do some training drills and get graded on it. The higher the grade, the higher your levels go up.
  • Create A Team

It was one of my favourite things on AFL Live but also if a career mode path as a Coach where you can create a new team in the league would be amazing. If this does come back I would like more options for logos, Guernseys and etc.
  • Better Graphics

The graphics weren’t good or bad in AFL Live 2 but I think they could still be improved.
  • Better Animations

Sometimes while playing AFL Live 2 as I go for a spoil I somewhat teleport to the ball to hit it out the way. I think there should be new animations like running from an angle and jumping and punching it depends what side you’re in I think a lot of new animations can come in. Also celebrations after getting goals.
  • Better Crowd

I know this isn’t really an important one but if the crowd gets improved it’ll be amazing. Let’s say the scores are 100 – 95 and someone marks it in the last 5 seconds and has to take a shot after the siren well then the crowd will be on their feet waiting to see if the player gets it. If he gets it the supporting crowd for that team goes crazy. This is where better animations can also come in and the rest of the team can run to that player and have a cool little group animation.

This is what I think they should do to AFL Live 3 to make it great.
 
Game mechanics before all.

AFL Live 1 with a proper marking system, better AI and a tweaked set shot system would do it.

Sync up some of the janky animations as well and then you can start worrying about a career mode or be a pro mode. In the Career mode though they HAVE to downgrade the % chances of name generation in the draft (i.e. no chance of Lance Ablett playing for Brisbane) and the trading (Pick 23 48 and Geary for the Number 1 pick doesn't work)

I like the simplicity of AFL Live's marking system. It definitely needed some tweaking though. Particularly how the ball or the players went through other players.

It was good for the most part but got very frustrating when, with 2 players under the ball, the player behind seemed to mark far more than the player in front.

1. Have an option to have the clock count down from whatever length the quarter is, like in AFL Live 2 (so a 10 minute clock, not a double speed 20 minute clock)
2. REMOVE FREE KICKS FOR IN THE BACK AND HIGH TACKLE. As its a game with one tackle button these are bullshit. Just don't pay them.
3. Allow us to actually stack the backline. In AFL 2006, you could order literally every player on your team to tag one player (and having 9 defenders (every forward, the wing-men and their original defender) on Pavilich, Brown and Tarrant saved me countless times). Allow us to either
a) An option on a player to have them go as a spare man into defense (the commentators would note this right as it happened to give you a chance to send a defender into your forward line to man them up)
b) The ability to place a player anywhere on the field manually (like in PES)

It's not 100% guaranteed but I'd like to think so. The creator is pretty easy to use so I wouldn't be to upset if it had to be made on a sport by sport basis.

If you did make an AFL game, how much of this would go into an AFL game?
Also, should I buy DBC and which console is it best on?

If you like cricket, or at least have a passing interest, then the next DBC is going to be great value.

Mind explaining how a 'stadium creator' works, and why no other sports game i think has ever implemented this?

My guess is it's like Dream League Soccer where you buy upgrades to the 9 sections of the stadiums and over time the stadium grows.

One of the Madden games (09 perhaps) certainly had one, although it wasn't the most impressive as it was basically just choosing what each side and endzone of the stadium looked like from a couple of different options.
 
It breaks me that Bigantstudios won't make another AFL game.

AFL gaming is so far behind other niche sports it isn't even funny. Even lacrosse has a better game.
